Chris Bosh Not a Fan of Kobe Bryant’s Extra Shooting in Miami

Bosh tells 790 The Ticket in Miami that it’s OK to cry after tough losses, and that the Heat should’ve shut the lights off on Kobe Bryant during his highly-publicized extra shooting session. From SRI: “On the reaction around the league to Heat players crying in the locker room: ‘Any player who says they haven’t cried over basketball, they’re lying … It’s emotions. That don’t make you weak. It doesn’t make you weak as a man or as a player. That just shows how bad you want to win. It really doesn’t matter at the end of the day.’ On Kobe Bryant shooting for an extra 90 minutes on the Miami floor: ‘I have no problem with guys wanting to get better, but if you think that any of us were going to be able to shoot on the Staples Center court for 90 minutes, you would be totally mistaken. I don’t think they should have allowed him to do that … We should’ve shut the lights off.’”

“It’s emotions,” Bosh said, his voice cracking as he choked back tears. “That don’t make me weak. It doesn’t make me weak as a man or as a player. That just shows how bad I want to win. It really doesn’t matter at the end of the day.”

    cosign mike

  • Red Star

LeBron and Wade said nothing but for some reason Bosh felt the need to comment on Kobe? Really! You know why they didn’t turn the lights off? Cause Kobe is a fn champ! Ask LeBron he’ll tell ya!! LMFAO

  • http://www.slamonline.com peter

so did Bosh just admit what everyone suspected, that he was the cryer?

  • robb

keep your mouth shut fake tough guy. Go to buy a new skirt or something.

  • ShaneFM

I find Bosh’s opinion to be amusing on so many levels. First, you have to understand the history between Kobe and Bosh. Chris Bosh was on the losing Toronto Raptors when Kobe came into his town and slammed 81 points down Bosh and his teams throat. So, because of that embarrassment alone, I can see why he would say something like that. But in the end, he’s a coward and an idiot. Kobe never played into the Media and Miami players crying in the locker room. Kobe always gave them respect and told reporters that it doesn’t mean they are soft and he had respect for their heart for the game. So for Bosh to backstab Kobe on this comes off like a little punk on the school-yard.

  • Coney Islander

Who’s Chris Bosh? I’ve heard of that Kobe guy, but I’m drawing a blank on this Bosh fellow.

  • Brennan

CHRIS BOSH is the most FEELER of a player in the NBA.

Who the hell do you think you are to say have comments like that on Kobe?! You’re such an asshole Bosh!

  • Enrique

This is the guy that took exception when Omer Asik got on the floor for a loose ball and spinned it as though Asik was trying to take him out. What a bum.

  • asgf

You relize even if he turned the lights out he would still shoot. ITS KOBE FOR FUKS SAKE.But i get cb4′s piont but your rep is already in the sh^thole. judging kobe in anyway just doesnt help. stop compalining like a B^itch sir

  • ClydeSays

Maybe Bosh should think “Hmmm, maybe that’s why he’s good…” Incidently, Ray Allen is in the gym for 2 hours of shooting before every game. Never heard a complaint about that. Ray’s shooting .501/.466 from 3 this season. Think about that Chris…

  • dfortruth

Bosh, just need another man hug. He won’t get it from Kobe.

  • ogog

at first bosh was anoying, but now im starting to like his outspokenness…i hope he keeps talking, especially in the playoffs

  • Klemperer

  • http://twitter foxxamillo

Bish stfu!!! Hes the best NBA player right he does what he wants

  • dahon

he should move back to toronto..fans love him up there

  • youngmuggsy

I can’t think of anything more tedious than shooting jumpers for over an hour. If I was an NBA player I’d only practice as much as my contract dictated. Screw this ‘dedication’ bulls**t.

  • Anthony

lol thats funny….. i would ov been cut the lights off

  • robb

@youngmuggsy if you were an NBA player you would be Tmac

  • not a fan

they should call this guy Bosh Spice cause he plays like a Fackin woman…

  • http://www.slamonline.com melvin ely

shout out to klemperer for making me spill my coffee

  • Eddie

I hate Bosh and the rest of the Heat bu man Kobe fans remind me of Kobe, super sensitive, defensive duche bags. Then again most Kobe fans are from California, Douche capitol of the world. Oh by the way Michael Jordan is 10 times better.

  • gani

Whenever Bosh says something basketball related an angel gets its wings clipped off.

  • http://n/a Rnz

Well Boshie, 5 rings has its perks..

  • Ligzki

you can switch off lights at Heat Gym or any other gyms but five golden rings and photographers flash will illmuminate the Black Mamba’s jumpers. no one else gets that much attention. admit it, Bosh !

  • CP3NOLA

come ppl leave him alone, its not his fault bron and wade left alone at the club. hes just venting

  • jrok

@young muggsy you wouldnt get very far, extra time practicing is how you get better, i agree with robb u would be a worse version of tmac… talk about squandering potential, you cant
just coast on the talent you have in the nba, thats what separates the average from the great… winners do things losers dont want to do thats why they are great

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

Why does anyone GAF what Chris Bosh says about anything?

  • Jef.

This dude shot 1/18 in one game this past month or so. For a supposed “big” to have that kind of performance… I think this dude needs to stop with the interviews and get his skinny ass on the court/gym.

  • Will Lee

cry baby, u better stay behind for some suicide drills

  • Justin

Seriously, you people should have to go through a normal IQ test and then a basketball IQ test to be allowed to post here. So much hate for no reason and it’s ridiculous. Jef., Wade had a similar game going something like 1-13 this year. I guess he should never talk either right? And Bosh, while technically considered a “big” hasn’t been used that way for 3/4 of the season, as he’s used a lot in high pick and rolls/pick and pops. Only lately have they started to put him lower on the blocks. And why do so many of you idiots think that players are just saying things out of the blue? They’re being asked a question! If the question is “What did you think of Kobe going out and shooting for 90 minutes after the game?” he’s allowed to give his opinion. I swear there are so many haters and morons on here that post hate just to post hate without having a damn clue of what they’re talking about

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

Cosign T-money 1:27… I’m not a fan of the Heat, and definitely a Laker-hater, but wheres the harm of staying after to find his shot? People stay after school to study, people work overtime to finish up some business.. I don’t see any problem here except Bosh trying to be a controlling butt-hole.

  • elmaar

@boss terry, you don’t understand, as already mike said – possible finals teams should not let each other do that for the sake of not getting too comfortable in the opposite arenas, in the end that might be that little difference – go shoot somewhere else

  • Justin

elmaar…So if Steve Nash and Grant Hill wanted to put in a little extra shooting time, that would be OK, simply because they probably won’t face them in the Finals? The Heat shouldn’t be worrying about a player they MIGHT face in the Finals. They should be worrying about getting out of the second round. That’s part of the Heat’s problem this year, assuming they’re going to get wins and cruise through the season and into the playoffs.

  • lockon

the crying over a regular season game is more silly than kobe shooting after the game. plus its kobe, there is no doubt why he is the black mamba. its him sending a message. and im not hating on the heat (wade is one of my faves) but that crygate is really dumb. makes the heat look more overrated and cant stand the pressure they attracted.

  • el_larsen

it s teh heat,so i guess crying after a loss is better than laughing

  • Justin

Why do all you idiots keep making it sound like they were blubbering in the locker room or something? There’s a huge difference between crying over a loss and there being tears of frustration after a tough loss, especially during a period where they had lost a bunch in a row. It doesn’t matter if it’s the regular season either. All it shows is that some of these guys care. Others show their frustrations in other ways like getting angry. Even MJ was prone to it at times, talking about how he had destroyed the chalkboard and some chairs in Utah. You people would say he was having a hissy fit and who cares, it’s a regular season game? If a player said that you would be all over him, saying how he should be traded, benched, why do we need a guy who doesn’t care about the games? Hypocrisy at it’s finest, all day every day on slamonline.com

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

Why is it that every time Chris Bosh opens his mouth, he ends up sounding more stupid than the last time he opened his mouth? This dude just needs to not talk to the media…ever. he might as well have said “my mommy tells me that any player who says they haven’t cried over basketball, they’re lying … It’s emotions. That don’t make you weak. Mommy says it doesn’t make you weak as a man or as a player. That just shows how bad you want to win. It really doesn’t matter at the end of the day.”

  • elmaar

justin…my point was the lights must be turned off nobody should be let to shoot after games except the home team, in this case, especially kobe

  • Blackphantom

Chris Bosh looks like a human cricket

  • Wek

    Bosh your an idiot.

At least Kobe shows his emotions by shooting the ball and TRYING to IMPROVE his game more, instead of crying like a girl.

  • Clark Roberts

Well Bosh when you’re 6th all-time on the NBA scoring list, 5-time NBA champion, 13-time all star, 4-time all star game mvp, nba mvp, and guaranteed future hall of famer, you too will get to shoot as long as you want on a visitor’s court.
