LeBron James Facing Lawsuit from an Atlanta Nightclub

LBJ‘s basketball life isn’t the only thing in turmoil these days; his nightlife is also facing some, ahem, heat. From the AJC (via: @cocoqt81): “In a complaint filed Monday in Fulton County Superior Court, Opera accuses James of reneging on a promise to appear for one hour on March 17, for which he was to be paid $25,000. James will be in town the night before his Miami Heat team is scheduled to play the Atlanta Hawks. The conflict arose when James’ agent said competing club, the Gold Room, was also pursuing him for a special appearance. The suit claims James’ agent had already taken a $12,000 deposit and a second for $3,000 when he notified Opera on March 4 that James would not appear and would go to the Gold Room appearance instead. Opera, located on Crescent Avenue, is accusing James of breach of contract. The suit says James’ ‘reputation is crucial to conducting … business at Opera and the public has an expectation that defendant James will appear at Opera.’ The suit says Opera would suffer ‘irreparable injury, loss and damage’ if James appears at the Gold Room, located at the site of the former Gold Club at Piedmont Road and Lindbergh Drive.”

Who’s gonna step up and be a WITNESS?

  • Ryan D.

Why is this guy making club appearances when he should be working on different last second shot scenarios for games? Then again you have to create a purpose for the hanger on’s.

  • max

he heard they served not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7 but 8 eight shots at the Gold Room…

  • tomtom

He’s not going to continue let his opera night club down as he has recently.

  • tomtom

Looks like Eboy is going to have to get a refund on those tix for the opera. Damn.

So I guess, James isnt allowed to live his life outside of the court. All athletes accept club appearances for cash and the clown suing is seeking unwarranted attention.

The Gold Room? Gold Club is the spot that Patrick Ewing was getting some…. Well lets just say he left her with a lil Patrick Chewing on her

  • True H

    LMAO @ Airs!!!

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

why does an athlete feed to make paid appearances at (strip) clubs?

  • c.a.

if he loses this case I wonder if he’ll cry in court

  • jay

The diamond encrusted bread that he has for breakfast arent gonna buy themselves….also Lebron is straight up slacking, no one hour decision special to announce this switch??, Jim Gray is disapponited.

  • Mike Mihalow

    “James’ ‘reputation”
Are they even the slightest bit familiar with his reputation?

  • tomtom

    lmao @ jay

  • Cizzo

Go to both clubbs LBJ? first one, they only want him there for one hour….then the other…. 25k for an hour? what he’s going to a strip tease routine? that’s alot of Capitol…. LB need to see if he can book clubs by the hour? Clubs stay open all night in Atlanta…… All he need to do is grease his body in popcornbutter and throw a few thousand in the air like his pregame ritual with the powder…

At a first glance I thought that said Oprah.

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

He’s always making verbal plans, and then backing out.. Remember a couple years back during the Dunk contest, he told Chryll Miller (excuse bad spelling) that NEXT YEAR he would be competing in the event??

  • Yep

@Spaceship Jay same.. i was like.. oooh lebron you DONT fu cks with oprah!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Harv

Is LeBron slowly turning into Allen Iverson?

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Between 12:30AM and 1:30AM on the night before a game, you’d think a guy — well, the MAIN guy — would be trying to get some rest, no? Especially considering his team is jockeying for Playoff seeding this late in the season.
I could be wrong though. Maybe I’m just hating…

  • http://slamonline.com nazzzi

Boo hoo, get over it. Lebron isn’t the 1st or last 2 dip out on a club appearance. BTW, Cizzo if a fudgep*cker.

  • Yep

man… you’d think professional athletes would be more disciplined.. but you’re completely wrong to think that. it’s somewhat of an offhand comparison but i know as a fact handfuls of nhl players that have been out hammered at the same bar as i have been the night before a game. in some cases with some all stars, it actually shows the next game too. dang my brother and some of my homies used to see bosh out in toronto at the clubs til hours past closing — absolutely wasted.

Jordan once drove up to Connecticut to gamble the night before a playoff game against the Knicks. Get of LBJks back.

  • Felix

Man, I didn’t know he was clubbin that much in the season. Thought LBJ was more focused…

  • Felix

Maybe extensive night life could partially explain some Heat late game melt downs- they do look tired tryin to close out… I feel like if your good enough at hoops to play NBA, why would you need to drink?

  • buzzkut

Let’s not even put Jordan and LeBron in the same sentence, really.

  • http://slamonline.com nazzzi

Jordan isn’t a god. He’s just a man who is just as, if not, even more flawed than Lebron. A gambling addict to be honest.

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

@nazzzi – that’s not true, Jordan went sleepwalking, ran to CT and took a nap while dropping 50 on the Knicks the next day.

  • Felix

    @buzzkut you just did

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/officerbarbrady what

This is all an elaborate plan by the Hawks to get LeBron tired the night before the game so they can beat them again.

  • hushabomb

Maybe he should have went to both clubs? Just to see what Delonte West is getting up to……

  • http://slamonline.com nazzzi

@ Anton, nah not true. He ran to CT, gambled all night, ran back to NY, then dropped 50 on the Knicks.

  • rich

jordan could do whatever he wanted he used to go to the arena early and smoke victory cigars in the other teams locker room until they arrived so saw him in there acting like he already won.

  • DNz15′s

    hands down
lebron is better than james jones
