Leon Powe ‘Closer To Signing’ With Grizzlies

The Cavs bough out Powe last week and the power forward is looking for the right fit: “Free-agent Leon Powe visited Memphis on Wednesday in a move that could put him closer to signing with the Grizzlies for the rest of the season. Powe, a 6-8 power forward, met with Griz general manager Chris Wallace and will soon decide on a destination, according to his agent, Aaron Goodwin. ‘He liked it,’ Goodwin said of his client’s visit. ‘He knows that he can come in and play the style they want to play. He looked at the situation. The reason he moved on going there (to visit) before anywhere else was because of Chris. He feels good about it.’”

I assumed he was headed back to the Celtics after they traded Harengody and Erden. I don’t see how he fits in Memphis.
