Andrew Bynum Will be Ready for the Playoffs

The Lakers and their supporters can breathe a collective sigh of relief. From ESPN: “An MRI revealed that Los Angeles Lakers big man Andrew Bynum has a bone bruise of the right knee, suffered in Tuesday’s 102-93 win over the Spurs. The team said he’ll be ready for the start of the playoffs. Bynum went down with what the team said was a hyperextended knee in the second quarter when he stepped on DeJuan Blair’s foot, causing his knee to buckle. Bynum sat on the floor with his head in his hands for several minutes after the injury occurred but walked to the locker room under his own power. He exited the game with four points and four rebounds in 13 minutes and did not return. ‘He could be out a couple games,’ coach Phil Jackson said after the game. ‘There could be a bone bruise involved when you hyperextend the knee. His reassurance was saying, ‘I’m going to be OK.’ I think that he might have an idea about it because he’s been through this before.’”

let’s wait until game 1 and see if that’s true

if LA face the hornets in the first round, LA could rest Bynum a lot!!!

He will be the first player to play with the aid of a crutch.

Injury prone but not a softie. I don’t root for the Lake Show but I’d hate to see any defending champ at less than full strength.

Not a Lakers fan but I would rather rest him in the 1st round

  • Yesse

I don’t think they should play him against an easy team. When it gets though, then put him on the court.

play him in home games.. and limit him on the road in the first round.. or.. bring the brooms out and rest the whole squad..

OMG, great news for the Lakers.
