Chicago Bulls Aiming for Top Overall Seed

The Spurs don’t seem to be too worried about it, and Chicago is more than happy to try and overtake them in the standings. Bulls.com reports: “It was like that in the grand old 90’s for the Bulls as those teams never took their foot off the accelerator. They won six of their last seven in 1991, 11 of their last 13 in 1992, 12 of their last 14 in 1996, 14 of 18 in 1997 and 16 of 19 in 1998. Phil Jackson rarely held them back, the point being you establish some sort of dominance, you don’t play out of fear but confidence. You go into the playoffs feeling emboldened and self assured. It’s like the tough kids coming to the playground, like what Tiger Woods used to be, that feeling you projected of invincibility even without playing those guys. That’s the way the Bulls are approaching the close of the season, and I think it’s the right way to go. Let everyone keeping watching the scores and wonder, ‘Who are those guys?’ The Celtics are resting players basically because it seems they almost need an escape from the pressures of the game. The Lakers are flummoxed and faltering. The Spurs seem to be trying to avoid a Lakers’ matchup, so they even took a pass on going for the best record. They seem like they’re saying they’ll worry if they get there. The Bulls seem to be saying they’re going for it every day. ‘It means something special,’ said [Joakim] Noah. ‘It’s definitely something we want. But we realize the bigger picture. For us, it’s all about improvement and our next opponent.’”

Should the Spurs make it out of the Western Conference, and they likely will, the chances they’ll face the Bulls are slim to none, so in the end Spurs will have home court advantage in the 2011 Finals.

    slim to none?
you understand bulls do have the easiest route to the ECF/Finals in the east?
    oh you don’t? my bad.

I’m a huge Bulls hater but after last nights game I might have to recondier. They have a humble and grounded superstar in Rose, bunch of touch no-nonsense bigs in Booz, Noah and Gibson. Tough outside defenders in Deng, Brewer and Bogans.

keep believing NOAH, keep working hard. the bulls have a heck of a TEAM, knick fans saw what happened to CAR-SMELLO…. last night

OMG the Bulls beat the Knicks (1st time this season) without Amar’e in what was a meaningless game for the Knicks! *golf clap*

and if they won that golf clap would be replaced with “!!!!!!!!!”
    please bro.
    humble pie taste bitter, huh?

Quote of the day goes to Jono: … a bunch of tough no-nonsense bigs in Booz, Noah and Gibson…Since when was the EyeBrow considered a tough no-nonsense big. Unless yelling GET IN THERE!! and the Johnny Bravo brows exude toughness.

hey, it takes a lot of energy to scream that loud and often.

    THERE IT IS!!!
I was waiting for ORANGE to use the “no Amare” excuse.
It’s ok, you wanted a sweep.
Well, Derrick Rose went 2-0 against Carmelo Anthony this season.
    So there you go.

  • bull22

@iamorangeforever, did not the heat fans use that excuse when the heat played without lebron?? (smirk)

  • bull22

@jono yeah they have a very tough team, but it is a long trek to those sixteen wins and iam ready for the post-season to get started. boozer did say there are no jerks on this team and you can tell by the team chemistry and their improbable season that they must have expected from the onset while everyone else including myself did not see anything bigger then a third seed and a trip to east finals..

  • bull22

but now the BULLS have what it takes to get to

  • winitall

spurs will not even male it pass the lakers so yeah your wright the best record dose not matter that much Lakers bulls is my prediction for the finalls

  • bull22

@ccantrell, yep.. but folks here love to attack winners..

  • k Dub

Idk WHY but alot of people seem to hate on the bulls and not want to give D Rose credit. The Bulls are really good and Rose hands down won MVP!! Why throw hate to a young superstar?? And its not like the bulls been winning like this forever……stop hating on the Chi!!!!! Hate them boys on South Beach

@Enigmatic: It was a FLUKE! lol

I’m really excited to see these Bulls in a 7-game series (once they dust Indy off their shoulders, that is).

  • dsleepy

something tells me the bulls are in for a rude awakening in the playoffs. they still might make it to the finals but the road getting there will not be without its bumps.
