Deron Williams on Nets’ Brooklyn Home: ‘Baller’s Paradise’

DWill seems to like what he sees in what could be his new home for many years to come. From the Star-Ledger: “Nets GM Billy King and point guard Deron Williams toured the site of the Nets’ Brooklyn Arena and later, Williams posted on his Facebook page: ‘This place will be a baller’s paradise.’ The Nets, of course, have to sign Williams to a contract extension or he won’t be joining them when they make the move to Brooklyn in 2012.”

he mine as well just sign da extension….. He has the chance to be the face of a franchise for a very long time.. jkidd had the chance but he lost respect when he got Byron Scott fired…… Being the face of a franchise is better than having a ring personally i htink its overated

The Nets are more like a losers paradise for ballers…

  • NJ4Life

@Max yeah they only have: 1) A top 3 pg, a top 5 center, the richest owner in American sports, a brand new arena, and the second most cap space in the league behind the Kings. Please. Players would be wise to sign with the Nets now

max is prolly a knicks fan lol

  • SpursFan

    The Nets have Kim Kardashian…

  • Brothaman

Co-sign NJ4Life on everything except Brook Lopez being a top 5 center. The Nets will attract a lot of free agents both this off-season and in 2012. ( I’m looking at you Dwight)

  • fruizm

brook lopez a top 5 center???

  • robb

Dwight likes hot weather. LA bound.

  • RunNGun

Welcome to NY D-WILL. Can’t wait to see you don a Knicks uniform. Make it happen Walsh.

@ NJ4Life, yeah Brook top 5 center with his nice rebounding…
And I take cp3,rondo and Drose over Dwill
@AD Naah, I like teams that play defense ;)
If the Nets get Dwight, and trade Brook for a forward, they can talk about winning, bcause all they do now is losing.

    Not hating, chill out :p

    Some ones a nets fan

Brook IS arguably a top 5 center. After dwight, its slim pickins. Bynum, Bogut, Noah, Nene? TD and Horford are natural PFs. As is Al Jefferson. Brook closed out the season strong, averaging 27 the last five games. Honestly if he was rebounding like a normal 7 footer, this wouldn’t even be up for debate.

Nets will find a way to mess it all up…

  • NJ4Life

If Dwight is leaving, they’re trading him, he won’t make it to free agency. My Nets would probably make an offer of Lopez, Hump, picks, and Morrow or James or Outlaw. And we’d no doubt be getting gilbert unfortunately. Really it comes down to Bynum: Great talent, very young, injury prone vs Brook: Great Offensive post man, young, durable.

NO WAY Dwight is signing an extension with Brooklyn or NY. He’s already said he isn’t a fan of New York winter. He’s definitely LA bound. Whether it’s with the Lakers or Clippers is another story. That said, I’m pretty sure the Knicks are setting their sights on CP3.

  • Brothaman

I’m really interested in hearing a Laker’s fan rationale for why Dwight would wanna go there. No way they can sign him outright, so it’d have to be a sign and trade that would basically gut the Laker’s roster. So Dwight is goin there to play with an aging Kobe and be coached by Brian Freakin’ Shaw?

  • robb

I’m really interested in hearing why anybody wouldn’t wanna go to LA.

An aging Kobe is still one of the best 2 players in the world
Pau Gasol is a top 3 PF
Odom is one of the most versatile players in the league
    B. Shaw knows the team, the players and has been learning from the best.

Besides, Dwight’s the kind of guy who would love to be the center of attention in LA.

  • Brothaman

@Robb. I seriously doubt Orlando is gonna accept Andrew “Playboy” Bynum for Dwight straight up. And one thing thing LA fans never mention is that by leaving for LA Dwight would be following EXACTLY in the footsteps of Shaq. And we all know how fond Dwight is of the Shaq comparisons

  • NJ4Life

Oh my God, the weather! That’s what’s most important to Dwight! If Minnesota had drafted him he would’ve went and played overseas in southern Italy somewhere! Get real. By offering up disparaging remarks he quells rumors. It’s the Anti-Lebron theory, where Lebron said he LOVED ny and Brooklyn was his favorite borough so he HAD to be going to ny. So by Dwight saying he hates the ny weather the media plays the story up to be Dwight DOESN’T like the NY area. C’mon people use your heads.

  • celts4ever

In my opinion D-howard is not going anyware.

  • jufu

whos ahead of lopez besides love, dwight, z-bo, MAYBE joakim? get real, my nets are gonna get a chip in five years, and i can finally break out all those jkidd jerseys ive hidden :)
