Doc Rivers Rules Shaq Out For Game 4

With the series pretty much at hand, Celtics coach Doc Rivers wants his team to remain as healthy as possible as it looks to move into the second round.  Which means, of course, that the Big Fella will be sitting until further notice. Via ESPN Boston: “Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers ruled Shaquille O’Neal out for Sunday’s Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the New York Knicks, noting the 39-year-old center simply is not ready for game action. O’Neal was present at Madison Square Garden on Saturday as the Celtics engaged in a walk-through after watching film at the team hotel. ‘He’s not playing [Sunday],’ said Rivers. ‘We didn’t do anything to see honestly. We didn’t practice, we just walked through. I’m not going to put him out on the floor.’

Not like they will need him. Get the brooms out.

They have not been needing Shaq at all…Jermaine O’Neal has been doing just fine.

The C squad definitely don’t need him in this series, but he will be most needed all of the following series there after… So get fresh Shaq cause your services will definitely be on demand in any way you can!!!!

Great. Let’s see if he can play 6 minutes before getting hurt.

Lets be real this isn’t a scenario where he is sitting because it doesn’t make sense to risk it up 3-0. He is sitting because he is too injured to finish a light practice/walk-through. Don’t be surprised when he’s still sitting in Gm4 vs Mia either…

I want Doc to come out and say that they are resting Shaq so that he’ll be healthy for the conference finals… in 2013 (obviously that’s a joke cuz they’ll be a lottery team that year)
