Dwyane Wade to Sit Out Due to Thigh Injury?

Wade might not suit up for the Heat to make sure he’s completely healthy prior to the start of the Playoffs. From the Sun-Sentinel: “Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade said his bruised right thigh could have him out at the start of the three-game homestand that opens Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks at AmericanAirlines Arena. ‘It’s sore.’ Wade said at a promotional appearance Monday. Wade sustained what the team termed a ‘right lateral thigh contusion’ when he was kneed by New Jersey Nets forward Travis Outlaw in the first quarter of Sunday’s 108-94 victory at the Prudential Center. Wade retreated to the locker room in the second quarter but returned to start the second half, playing to the finish. ‘When the game ended, the pain was at a 10,’ Wade said Monday at the event to promote his Jordan Brand signature shoe. ‘Right now, I’m at a 9.7.’ Wade was non-committal about Wednesday. ‘I’m just going to take it a day at a time,’ he said. ‘I’m going to do my treatment, my therapy and see how I feel on Wednesday. If I feel I can go, I’ll go. If I feel like I’m going to hurt myself even more and hurt my team, I’ll wait.’ Teammate LeBron James said there should be no rush. ‘He knows at this point he doesn’t have to push it,’ James said. ‘We need him more later than we do now.’ James said if that means Wade missing time this week, so be it.”
