Frank Vogel Wants Pacers’ Head Coaching Job

After taking over for Jim O’Brien in midseason, Frank Vogel led the Indiana Pacers to a 20-18 regular season finish and a valiant effort in a highly competitive series against the Chicago Bulls. Now, he wants the “interim” title removed and become the organization’s next head coach: “One thing I learned the last three months is that I can do this,” he said. “I’m confident in my leadership abilities, my management abilities, my coaching abilities. It’s been an honor to coach the last few months, it would be an honor to coach in the future.”

He should be retained and given the opportunity to hire his own assistant coaches.

Larry O’Brien? The former commissioner? He didn’t get sacked. He got dead in 1990.
Anyways, Vogel did a hell of a job. They should keep him.

he has earned it with his team playing hard and also with his mouth ensuring the pacers-bulls rivalry has been renewed after a 13 year hiatus….. we may as well continue to hand him further playoff defeats….

He deserves it. He got more out of those pacers then I think anyone else will.

Unless, PJax, Pop, or Doc, REALLY want the Pacers job, it’s his. I’ve never been so interested in a 5 game series involving teams I have no rooting interest in.
