Introducing the Wizards’ New ‘Big Three’

Pardon Wiz fans for not exactly jumping for joy at this announcement, but according to team owner Ted Leonsis, the squad has a new three-headed monster to happily market: “A new big three has announced its arrival – [John] Wall, [Jordan] Crawford and [Andray] Blatche. Big minutes – big productivity – big results. And wins, too. We are short-handed and so players are getting bigger minutes to show the world what they can do. We have two first round draft picks next off season. We have cap space. We are young. We have upside. We are becoming an exciting team to watch. The sun is shining out today. Admit it. It feels good to be Wizards fans watching the rebuild unfold, yes? I am so grateful to you all and I appreciate all of your positive emails. Thank you.”

I love the wizards man…. but their forgetting about nick young and javale mcgee… show them love too

  • mtobi

Dont forget, that they also have the Dinamic Triple-Double Duo.

  • http://360special.blogspot.com dev0

I’ve never seen Andray Blatche as an exciting player, solid though he may be

  • axel

Jordan Crawford and Nick Young cannot co-exist. one of them gotta go to another bad team (raptors)

  • http://nba.com EJ

John Wall, Nick Young and Javale McGee

  • underdog

I’d rather call them the poor man’s big three.

  • http://google c_cantrell

i expect to them to surge from horrible team to decent team to good team much like the thunder have over the past couple years.. i dont see them becoming as good as the thunder of course i can see them following the same pattern to success

  • J_Franchise

imo nick young has to go. in terms of big 3… naw.

  • Nate C

    Nick Young……..make it happen Walsh?

  • Nate C

    That’s right Blatche!

  • JoeMaMa

This is the second time Blatche has put up big numbers at the end of the season. I don’t trust him to play that way all year. And Nick Young averages 1 assist a game. 1. This Wizards team….enh. Stick with Wall, Crawford, and McGee.

    What about Eazy Yi?!

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    Where is Josh Howard now?

  • http://redoftoothandclaw.ca/ niQ

They definitely left out McGee, who leads the league in Blocks per game…

  • vtrobot

yeah, no mcgee in there? why does it always have to be a “big 3″? sure alienate some of your team instead of just aiming for a well balanced team. good luck!

  • dsleepy

cosign joemama. package blatche with young and get them out of here for a vet.

  • First & Foremost

@VTrobot – It is easier to market 1,2, or 3 players instead of a whole team. Denver might play well as a balanced team but they have no one or distinct group they can promote. Also, they other guys aren’t alienated. If they have a big game then all of a sudden people talk about how deep that team is. In other news, Nick Young is as good as gone. I agree with the rest of you, how do you exclude the guy who nearly won the dunk contest, has the best highlight reel, and doesn’t have character issues? Wall-Crawford-Mcgee

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Man I do not like blatche at all.

  • http://nicekicks.com meloman2.0

i would LOVE to see either nick young or j crawford on the Raptors or knicks

  • http://www.hoopsvibe.com/features/overdribbling chiqo

wait, so this isn’t an article about the number of wizards road wins?

  • Heals

That poor term has just been beatin to death in recent years…

  • Scott

Much rather include McGee in the big three then Blatche.

  • G

Blatche has gotta go. Crawford is a prototypical 6th man…STILL not enough talent with Wall, Young, Blatche and McGee. Still have a Loooong way to go. Big 3? pffffffff

    Sincerely,
    A Wiz fan

  • vtrobot

@ F & F: I hear you, but you can market a great team. Doesn’t make much sense to try to manufacture a fake “big 3″.

Crawfords play has defintely made Nick Young expendable. I don’t expect to see him back next year. I really like his offensive game tho, he lit DWade and Heat up twice this year. But Crawford has shown to be just as explosive a scorer, with some PG skills as well.

  • http://dillanleuyahoo.com Holy Baller

    Chiqo with the ZING!!!

  • Towelie

    How bout Rashard Lewis? lol

  • http://redoftoothandclaw.ca/ niQ

I think some of y’all are missing the reason behind the “new” big three. It’s cause Young, Lewis, Josh Howard, and a few others are all injured so that’s why these 3 are benefitting from all the extra minutes. But like I said, Mcgee leads the league in blocks per game!!!

  • http://Gmail Dirty Frank

    RASHARD LEWIS!!!!

  • http://www.boogiewilliams.com Boing Dynasty

You dont have a BIG 3, if nobody can guess the 2nd and 3rd player. I had Javale and Nick.

  • MookieBlaylock

I cant believe nick young still isnt getting any credit. He should be playing 35 minutes a night

  • Sam

Whos he trying to convince, the fans or himself?

  • http://slamonline Brion

Rashard has that ridicolous contract of a big three player, but not the game

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Rashard has a contract bigger than that of the Big Three combined. Rashard alone is the Big 3.

  • toinefan88

i thought he meant wall yung and mghee’s jumping ass

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

BLATCHE!!… thats the sound it makes when it hits the fan…

  • Michael

nick young needs to be on the Bulls.

  • Yesse

I thought McGee would have been in the trio. That trio is almost horrible, except for John Wall.

  • blakos

@Derrick Williams from the draft will combine with Wall and McGee for the 2011-2012 big three. Oh and please get rid of Blatche.

  • ogog

NICK YOUNG IS ONE OF THE BEST SG’S IN THE NBA WHEN HE IS ON HIS GAME….get him somewhere good!!

  • First & Foremost

We must not be watching the same Nick Young. Basketball is not entirely about scoring. Nick Young is good at it but he does NOTHING else for a team. Once you pass him the ball, the possession is over. If he had to inbound the ball it would be a 5 second violation. The dude just doesn’t pass at all. Yes he has had some great scoring games but he isn’t a team player at all. 6th man at best.

  • http://slamonline Allenp

Nick Young is J.R. Smith with a mid range game. You can always use players like that.
