Kris Humphries Done For the Year

With only a few games remaining, we’re moving to the point where non-Playoff teams are allowing their players to get some rest and begin the preparation for next season. The Nets have already sidelined Deron Williams, and now the squad’s starting power forward has been shut down. The Star-Ledger reports: “[Deron] Williams wasn’t the only Net whose season was officially ended Friday. Power forward Kris Humphries, who suffered a bruised heel and sprained ankle in the last game against the Knicks, March 30, was declared done for the year by coach Avery Johnson. ‘The heel is still a major issue in terms of running — too much discomfort there,’ Johnson said of Humphries, who emerged as a key performer this season and finished the season with averages of 10 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. ’He’s been getting treatment around the clock. This is a guy that’s played with so many different ailments this year, but to close the chapter on his season, really good thoughts about his season and all that he accomplished on the court this year.’ Humphries is a free agent this summer and Johnson said of the 6-9, 235-pounder: “We’d love to have him back. Like I’ve said all year, Kris is what Nets basketball is all about — his mental and physical toughness, he’s very coachable, high basketball IQ, and he got better and better every single day.’”

Just make sure you repay all the Nets have done for you by agreeing to what they will offer you.

You won’t be happy if you take more money elsewhere and don’t perform as well as you would with the Nets.

The Nets fans appreciate you. The fans elsewhere will treat you like Travis Outlaw if you take too much money and can’t live up to it.

Can you please accept a new contract as soon as the season is over? Maybe 5 years with the last year as a player option. Then the Net can focus on getting additional help as soon as July 1 comes along.

    The Nets have fans?

Contrary to what David Stern would want you to believe, not everybody is a Heat or Laker fan. They don’t have a huge amount of fans, but those the Nets do have are die-hards.

We’re also the most schizo fans in the league. One great game and we start with championship predictions, one bad game and we’re checking out draft prospects.

So much for the Kim Kardashian’s luck charm but the Nets are done anyway. He did have a nice season this year.
