Magic Expect Offers for Dwight Howard

Otis Smith expects trade offers for Dwight Howard next season, but Smith won’t trade him. The Magic GM spoke to the Orlando Sentinel‘s Brian Schmitz: “As hard as it is to believe, NBA teams have come to Otis Smith before with trade offers for Dwight Howard. So the Magic general manager is fully prepared to field more calls next season — potentially, Howard’s final season in Orlando. ‘To say it hasn’t happened before is crazy, so, yes, I expect it to happen,’ Smith told me Friday. ‘And the answer will be the same as it always is: No.’”

I believe he wont be traded or leave Orlando. I have a feeling that he is committed to winning in Orlando and he will probably try to bring a few good players to Orlando to actually help him out, especially on the defensive end.

^He’s been trying to do that for about 3 years now. If the Magic fail to bring in some notable guys over the offseason, he’s outta there.

If Arenas and Turk don’t play well next season, Dwight could bounce. Gil and Turk both have huge, long-term contracts that other teams aren’t going to take in a trade. The Magic are capped out and it looks like they’re going to have to win with what they have.

    Make it happen, Walsh.

If dwights gonna leave, its gonna be to LA. But 60% of me thinks hes staying in orlando, and will do his best into recruiting chris paul.

If Dwight leaves, can anyone think of a better player to get back than Bynum? Not that I think it’ll happen, but I personally think it’d be a great coup for the Magic to begin rebuilding with an up-and-coming, if oft-injured, center.

Come home Dwight. ATL needs you.

He should go to the Knicks and then they should sign Michael Reed to the min. The Knicks WILL have rings in ’12!

  • O

i read that Donnie Walsh would be willing to trade Stat for Dwight. I don’t know if that equals Rings galore, but that would equal a f*cking problem.

Dwight should go to New York… so that all the great players never play to there full potential… just like MIAMI , the NBA would be FANTASTIC ….(Sarcasm)

yeah right, Dwight would only go to LA or stay in Orlando. he gets his money, he gets his contender and he gets his Disney

As an earlier poster stated… MAKE IT HAPPEN, WALSH!

What’s LA salary situation? Who would have to go to let D Howard in?

  • irondan21

1 Dwight only goes to LA through a sign and trade (bye Mr. Bynum). 2 If u were him would you even consider a team that isn’t ready to compete for a championship immediately (new jersey)? 3 Do you want to put up with SVG and an under performing Orlando?
