Nick Young Won’t Give Wizards ‘Hometown Discount’

With a new CBA being negotiated, Nick Young may not have much choice but to take the ‘hometown discount‘: “When asked if he would be willing to offer a hometown discount in order to stay in Washington, Young replied, ‘My mama told me, never leave nothing on the table.’ He said two weeks ago that if he didn’t return, he would miss play fighting with Andray Blatche, who had once formed a tight-knit trio with Young and Dominic McGuire. But Young has already seen McGuire and Arenas traded, so he knows that anything is possible as it relates to him. ‘I’m unemployed right now,’ Young said. ‘It’s tough, but I felt I put myself in a good position where hopefully I get in a great position where I can be great at.’”

Yeah but… Jordan Crawford. So… Peace out Rabbit!

He can’t be expecting that big of a contract…

Nick Young is a potential all-star. Wiz better keep him. play him at small forward

  • DC_guy

Nick Young can find a new home with a team stupid enough to pay him the big bucks he’s after. He’s one dimensional at best. Who care’s if he becomes an all star, he’ll never be the center piece of a championship team so adios. He plays minimal d, he doesn’t rebound or pass exceptionally well, so if he is not giving you 25ppg, which he has never done, he’s simply not worth the money.
When he’s on, he can be impressive, but he’s not on often enough to pay for it. This is John Wall’s team.

    Nick Young in Chicago?
In the offense a good fit.

With Jordan Crawford in the picture, Young is as good as gone. Hopefully he gets a good deal elsewhere though.

Jordan Crawford? Please. He scored the way he did because he took a lot of shots. Bad shots at that. He was extremely inefficient. Check the stats. Nick is my boy and I would love to see him back in washington. Crawford is a 6th man at best. You need great scoring off of the bench. Besides he’s a liability on defense. Atleast nick was efficient this season and he played better D

“Young to dah Knicks. Bring dat boy to dah MeCcA Walsh” -Any Knicks fan

  • VL

Offensively in Chicago he would be a good fit, but not on the defensive end which is what Chicago needs. So he wouldn’t start over Bogans.

NY would be the best fit for him, IMO.

  • RunNGun

@NJ4Life You’ve got it all wrong, son. It’s… “TO THE KNICKS! MAKE IT HAPPEN WALSH!” Far as Young goes, he’ll get a contract alright but it’ll be with the Nyets.

i would love for him to stay… beacuse that young wizards team has sooo much potential. But wherever he goes, all star status aint far

ROFL! I’m a Knick fan but NJ4Life cracks me up.

  • MikeC.

Isn’t he a restricted FA? If no other teams line up with buckets of cash, he won’t have a choice. Welcome to the one year qualifying offer.

  • Groves

@sheed. nick young is not a future all star

  • Groves

    lol @ Teddy-The-Bear

  • Riggs

lol @ saying nick young will ever be an all-star. come on now.

  • dsleepy

good lord…in NO way is Nick Young a future all-star, unless all of the shooting guards in the league suddnely retire. man, ask anyone from the dc area who actually watches the wizards (painful as it is most of the time), we don’t want to keep nick for the price he will get from a dumb gm fooled by chucker-numbers on a bad team (cough…KAHHHHHN). as for that comment about chicago, he will be seeing thiboddeau’s bench 90% of the time. dude just is not a good defender and has low basketball iq.

  • larry brown

That’s what you think, and not what you see. NICK YOUNG HAVE LOT’s OF TALENT.

  • Ton

U guys r dumb nick young has improved his defense hes had big games against dwade kobe kevin durant and hes proven that he can and will average 20ppg also yes jordan crawford is good but if the wiz start both jordan crawford and john wall it causes too many defensive problems when we face guys like kobe and dwade plus imagine this john wall averaging 20ppg 10apg then you have nick averaging 20plus ppg then r six man would b jordan crawford who to me would be the best six man in the NBA averaging 18plus per game that would be one hell of a youg three headed monster

  • Ton

Possibly better than durant westbrook and harden in a few years
