Relocation Committee To Visit Sacramento This Week

The NBA Relocation Committee is coming to Sacramento. From KFBK Radio: “Committee Chair and Thunder owner Clay Bennett as well as NBA lawyer Harvery Benjamin will meet with Mayor Johnson and local business heads to see if the city can still support an NBA franchise and to determine if the arena plans are as far along as the Mayor claims.”

Bennett and Benjamin are expected to be in California’s Capital City Thursday and Friday. The Kings relocation filing deadline was extended for a second time to May 2nd.

As a Sacramento resident, I’d hate to see the Kings leave. But honestly, the team just doesn’t have the support they deserve. I’m not sure that Anaheim would be the best fit for them, but I just want to see the Kings/Royals receive the love from fans like they used to.

Clay Bennett is going to Sacramento to assist another NBA franchise in STAYING??? How is that supposed to make any sense. It shows how much the NBA/Stern cares about the Kings staying in Sacramento…

PLEASE get someting done to keep them in Sactown, I’m from L.A., but lived in Sac during the Mitch Richmond haydays and towards the begining of their WCF runs with the Lakers. They don’t want to play 3rd fiddle to the Lakers and Clippers in the L.A. area, trust me. There are ALOT of FAITHFUL, REAL Sactown fans out there!

Bennett’s the head of the relocation committee? That doesn’t seem to bode well for Sacramento.
