Report: Dennis Rodman Named to Hall of Fame

We can’t wait to see what Dennis wears when he gives his induction speech this summer. From the AP: “Dennis Rodman has been voted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Rodman says he was informed Thursday to be in Houston for Monday’s announcement before the championship game of the NCAA tournament. The five-time NBA champion and two-time defensive player of the year was honored Friday night by the Detroit Pistons, who retired his No. 10 jersey during halftime of their game against the Chicago Bulls.”

About time. If Reggie Miller’s annoying a** gets in, better believe rodman is getting in.

^What a stupid comment. The HOF is about GAME, not the players “annoying” voice.

He deserves to be in. Whatever you might think of him personally, he was a great player and a beast on the boards. No player wanted to box him out because he was a nightmare. 5 championships and 2 defensive player of the year awards dont hurt either.

Who said anything about his voice?

  • robb

excellent news. Anyone else watched Cedric Maxwell saying how Dennis shouldn’t be a HOF? In your face *ssh*le!!!

Probably the greatest individual defender… of all times.

Good to hear/read. Rodman deserves the honour. Next up: Robert Horry.

    Miller didn’t get in ???

  • MookieBlaylock

Finally. And Reggie’s “annoying ass” didnt get in. He should be in.

Way overdue. Dude never walked the company line but were a perennial winner and a fantastic presence on the court.

Im not exactly sure how the HOF thing works with regard to how many years you have to be retired etc but Im taking Shawn Kemp over the worm (just)then Reggie a distant 3rd.

  • Hambone

Kemp did you see him at Detroit and San Antonio or did you just start watching ball in 96?

  • johnny c

shawn kemp was a beast back in the day, but he didnt last as long as he couldve. dennis rodman was on his a-game almost till the end. if u know what your talking about, theres no way u could give shawn kemp the honor (based off what couldve been) over rodman.

  • Krisjanis

He really deserves it. Reggie Miller does too!

hey guys, dont get me wrong Rodman was a freak on the boards but was not a leader and couldnt carry a team to the finals by himself. he was too disruptive and unpredictable in my opinion. Kemp wasted his latter years but scored about 15,000 (compared to the worm’s 7,000) grabbed 9,000 boards (compared to Rodmans 12,000) and blocked 1,200 (compared to 500), both beasts- I just would take Kemp over Rodman on my team any day….
