Timofey Mozgov to Be Out 10-14 Days

George Karl and the rest of the Denver Nuggets can breathe a sigh of relief, as Mozgov’s knee and ankle injuries aren’t considered too serious. From the Denver Post: “When Timofey Mozgov hit the floor Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Denver, Nuggets coach George Karl said it was “an eerie feeling for me. I thought he was hurt bad, the way he was acting.’ Mozgov, a 7-foot-1 center acquired from the New York Knicks in the Carmelo Anthony trade, is listed as being out 10 to 14 days. So it’s possible, depending on his recovery, that he could play during the NBA playoffs. Mozgov has a Grade 2 sprained ankle and a Grade 1 sprained knee. The ankle is the more serious injury, but there are no fractures. ‘I feel bad for the kid because he was going to have the opportunity of playing pretty good minutes,’ Karl said. Even though Mozgov hasn’t played much, the Nuggets anticipated that he could be a key contributor off the bench during the playoffs.”
