Frank Vogel Interviewed for Houston Rockets Coaching Job

With no job security in Indiana, Frank Vogel is looking around elsewhere in the League, with his first stop being in Houston. From the Indy Star: “Frank Vogel isn’t waiting for an opportunity to coach the Pacers. Vogel interviewed for the Houston Rockets coaching position, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation. Vogel joined a LONG list of candidates to interview for the job, which became available when the Rockets and Rick Adelman parted ways last month. Former Indiana University standout Mike Woodson, former IU coach Kelvin Sampson, former IU student manager Lawrence Frank, Mario Elie, Kevin McHale, along with others have interviewed for the position. Vogel and Rockets general manager Daryl Morey worked together with the Boston Celtics. Vogel said during his season-ending press conference last week that he would like to return as Pacers coach. The Pacers coaching situation likely won’t be resolved until after Larry Bird and owner Herb Simon meet next week in California to determine if Bird will return as president of the team.”
