Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis’ Last Run With the Celtics?

Big Baby thinks he can be a starter in the NBA, which isn’t realistic in Boston, which means he could be on his way out. From the Herald: “Glen Davis picked an inopportune time to have one of the worst stretches of his career. Even worse, this forgettable postseason may be Davis’ final memory with the Celtics. Davis will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and clearly intends to test the market. This postseason was not the best audition, as Davis shot 39.1 percent and averaged 4.9 points and 3.6 rebounds. ‘You just can’t base it on just this playoffs,’ Davis said. ‘My whole body of work, I feel like I can play in this league, I can start in this league, from my second year when Kevin (Garnett) went down and my third year playing in the playoffs. This year was my best year. I just didn’t play well in the playoffs this year. I didn’t get a good rhythm. Some things happen like that. I don’t think this playoffs hurt me as much.’ If Davis wants to start, Boston likely won’t be the destination. Kevin Garnett will return next season at power forward and there have been no indications from the organization that Davis is in line to be the successor.”

He’s garbage. Call us when he goes from being “big baby” to “diet tryit” davis.

big baby would make a good starter, i think. he was inconsistent for the celtics since the trade deadline, but that’s cause jeff green was cutting into his minutes, and he’s a player who plays better when he’s given more minutes. he’d get those minutes as a starter somewhere.

Too undersized to be a starter. Great for a 6th man though. Know your role.

He should have a long conversation with himself before leaving. Boston loves him. And where would he start if he left? I don’t see it…maybe if he got in better shape.

Since he has drawn the most offensive fouls this season, the “Fat Flopper” is a far better nickname for Glen Davis.

he could start on a scrub team, but not a contending one. i predict somebody overpays him and he fades into mediocrity for the 4 yrs following

why is this a big deal when ur not even close to a star? big baby isnt even close to other lesser talents in the NBA, pathetic story and comments. HE weak

  • MikeC.

He’s a solid rotation player, but not big enough or athletic enough to start at the 4.

Getting rid of Shaq and Glenn would take 600+ pounds of the bench. If both of them would hook up along with three 400 pound pinerooter pigs they could call themselve the ‘Flab five’.

These fat jokes are getting really tiresome.

Glen Davis is a joke. I am happy he said that because now I feel even more confident that the Celtics are going to get rid of him. Whatever team is stupid enough to start this hamburger, OH MAN GOOD LUCK. His whole career is a fluke. His overweight self was pushing college kids around, but not in the NBA fatso.

Nobody puts forth more effort. Would love to see him near a playing weight of around 260. He would definately have more hops and might move him along the path to starting.
