Post Up: Heart On Their Sleeve

Dallas and Atlanta take important Game 1.

Hawks 103, Bulls 95

A famous Georgia native once proclaimed that life was like a box of chocolates because “you never know what you’re gonna get.” His momma told him that. I wonder if his momma would say the same thing about the Atlanta Hawks?

Atlanta came into the United Center and took a victory on the Bulls home floor. The floor where they’d won 28 of their last 30 games. Chicago, notorious for slow starts, continued that trend in Game 1 against Atlanta and now find themselves in an 0-1 hole, giving those who routinely like to proclaim them as “frauds” plenty of ammunition.

But let’s talk about what really happened.

Atlanta… Was. On. Fire.

The Hawks shot 51 percent from the field and 54 percent from behind the three-point line. That’ll never happen again. But still, when a team shoots that well in a game, they’re going to be pretty tough to beat. Another thing…

Joe Johnson… Was. Cook-ing.

“Iso-Joe” scored 34 points on 12-18 shooting from the field and was 5-5 from behind the three-point line. The man who scored the richest contract during the offseason last summer, played like a man who scored the richest contract during the offseason last summer. He was making tough shots all night and single-handedly kept the Bulls at bay whenever Chicago would make a run. Finally…

Jamal Crawford… Is. That. Dude.

Aaron Jamal is one of the coldest hoopers on the planet, period. His 22 points – a couple of which were incredible circus shots – equaled the Bulls combined bench scoring total. You can’t win like that if you’re Chicago. Their bench is far too capable and they must produce more.

For Chicago, Derrick Rose put up 24 points and 10 assists, but really seemed to struggle offensively. He also, ahem, didn’t shoot a single free throw in the game (message!). Luol Deng totally outplayed Josh Smith and Marvin Williams combined. Joakim Noah got the best of Al Horford (except on the glass) and Carlos Boozer finally seems to be trying to come out of hibernation. But none of that matters. Chicago still lost and they must play better, on both sides of the ball, come Wednesday.

No excuses on this one. The Hawks totally outplayed the Bulls in Game 1. – Bryan Crawford / @_BryanCrawford

Dallas 96, L.A. Lakers 94

There are some people in the press conference room who want some answers. They’re wondering when the Mavericks got good at defense. Tyson Chandler has totally transformed them, they’re saying, like they just saw a shooting star and were telling a small child.

Fine, Dirk Nowitzki’s over here just trudging toward a championship all by his damn self. Trudge, trudge, trudge. Free throw, free throw, free throw. Boring.

This defense has been good for years. That’s not the problem. The problem is—and say it with me—Dirk Nowitzki has no help.

But, oh, it doesn’t even matter anymore. Dirk Nowitzki might win a championship this year anyway. He and the Dallas Mavericks, but mostly he, defeated the Lakers in Game 1 in Los Angeles, 96-94.

It is a grueling exercise to say how he did it, so we’ll do this: You know those shots Zach Randolph has been hitting lately, the high-arching floaters that go in regardless of coverage? They’re like works of art, really, and they go in all the time, especially the important times, especially when they’re not supposed to.

Well, it’s that shot exactly. Over and over again. About eight of Dirk’s 11 buckets tonight were that exact shot. He’s been doing that for about 10 years now, he just wasn’t awful three years ago and didn’t provide a contrast.

So sorry. This Mavericks team is not sexy. It is just up 1-0 in a series against the favorites in the West.

Oh, those favorites in the West. Everybody but Kobe was asleep. Kobe was electric, as usual. He had their first seven points. He got so hot he was chucking heat checks and some of them were going in. It invigorated no one.

When they needed answers not named Kobe in the last three minutes, when the Mavericks were able to move every defender on to Kobe until one worked (it was Jason Kidd), no one was awake.

“We went in the locker room and felt like we gave the game away,” said Phil Jackson. “Not sure we felt like Dallas outplayed us.”

Then Phil Jackson said something a little more prescient. He realized he wasn’t giving any specific strategic reason why the Lakers lost in the press conference. He was getting anxious.

So he said this: “Here, guys, I’ll give you guys some help. The game was won in the third quarter when we stopped playing defense and stopped playing offense, basically.”

Boy, did that ever sound like code for, “This team is asleep and I don’t know if I can wake them up in time.”

The Lakers are the better team. Everybody knows it. Kobe knows it.

“We don’t do it purposefully,” he said, about getting into these holes. “I assure you.”

This might sound a little stupid, but the visitor’s locker room after the game was the most optimistic 60×30 space I’ve been around in a long time.

The Mavericks were down 16, by the way, in the third quarter. This is supposedly the emotionally fragile team, the sad loose cannon, the guy who gets drunk and talks about kicking his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend’s ass, but winds up getting drunker and monopolizing your night with their crying. They collapse.

Well, that phase is apparently over.

If the Lakers don’t wake up by Wednesday, this might be the year Dirk Nowitzki wins an NBA Championship all by himself. We’ll have to deal with the consequences of what that means later.

He just came into the press conference room and snatched the mic, holding it in his hand to answer questions. He’s like Nas up here. Everyone’s very impressed. Yeah, pay attention to that. Write your stories about that and this brand new Dallas defense.

This guy’s been a monster for a decade. — Ben Collins

Well, that sucked, still believe the Bulls will take this series. Just hope, the MVP presentation for Game 2 doesn’t have a negative affect on Drose, because he already has one bad game in this series, let’s not make it 2. Dirk vs Kobe was fun as hell. Let’s hope that series and the MIA-BOS goes 7 (and Chicago-Atlanta goes 5, 4-1 Chi, lol)

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

Phil… YOU are the reason we lost… it’s the playoffs, how about playing Kobe and Pau in the 4th quarter? No? Okay.

  • RobbieJay

good win for the hawks last night. joe johnson completely went off which i havent seen him do in a long time. also, anyone notice how the lakers are wearing black shoes with their home uniforms now.? kinda like the bulls did in the era of their three peats…?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

@RobbieJay, I love the black shoes with the home uni’s from LA, it looks Hollywood flashy. Especially Kobe’s shoes look awesome with those uni’s.

  • Myung

I thought Gump was from Alabama. Good write up, BC.

  • RobbieJay

@Jahmai yeah i always felt like the yellow uniforms were more “away” fitting then home.

  • Myung

It’s scary how well a team plays when it’s playing with house money. I expect Chicago to beat us in Game 2 and shoot much better. That being said, going home tied at a game a piece is all we could ask for. Teague’s game leaves a lot to be desired, but a quick young PG who doesn’t look for his own shot is just what we need right now when you’re going against an amazing talent like Rose. I was happy with how he played last night, and obviously, Joe (in both Game 6 of the ORL series and last night) is starting to earn some of his ridiculously bad contract. And Josh Smith (always my least favorite Hawk) did everything he could to hand the game to chicago.

  • bull22

the bulls need to realize when opponents walk into the stadium and see all those banners they get pissed.. add in coach of the year and mvp and teams are going to come in wanting to hang one on this franchise… play harder bulls!

  • mj23

I was disappointed with the Bulls effort. I think they took the Hawks too lightly, and in the end with the game basically over, Rose injured his ankle. Thibs needed to take him out at that point, it was meaningless at that point. I’m worried about how he’ll do in Game 2.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Nah Myung, Gump just went to college at Alabama. He was from Georgia though.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

@mj23, I’m sure Rose will do fine, if it’s bothering him, he’ll get a pain shot like he got before game 5 against the Pacers, but he says it happens to him alot and that he has no problem playing through it, and we all know he’s warrior. I think he’s gonna have a great game and I just can’t see the Bulls losing again @ home against the Hawks. No disrespect to them, because they played a great game last night.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Raise your hand if you were delighted to see PhilJax get animated (by his standards) during that last LA timeout. Whatever Javie was saying to him riled him up a bit.
Then he put Bynum in to guard Kidd and Kobe on Barea. Wonder what would have happened had Pau not decided to go Rambo on Dirk during that inbounds play?

  • mj23

Bulls can’t afford for the series to go 7 games. I think the Heat will beat Boston in 5 games, so they will be well rested.

  • Myung

I know you love to debate and get in the last word, BC, and I know the bus stop scene was in Savannah, GA (I actually took a photo of where they filmed it). But again, I’m pretty certain he was from Alabama (Greenbow to be exact). I’d love to debate basketball with you, but if you want to debate the hometown of a fictional book/movie character, that’s fine with me too.

  • mj23

@Jahmai, Drose needs to switch to Nikes. I personally don’t like the ankle support on Adidas.

  • Myung

Great win for the Mavs last night, Dark. It was a perfect night of basketball for me: Hawks and Mavs both getting wins.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Myung: Yup, day was great for me too after both results.

  • mj23

@Myung, fyi…neither of those teams will make it to the finals. They are both perennial losers..keep cheering for them.:)

  • Myung

@mj23, my friend designs shoes for adidas in Portland and actually helped design those particular Rose kicks. I don’t necessarily think the shoes are to blame for his injury, but I’d like to see him switch to Nikes just because I don’t like the Three Stripes.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

It ain’t where you’re from, it’s where you’re at. But nah Myung, I’m good. It’s not even that serious.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Here were some interesting hashtags making their way around Twitter land last night: #overratedoneseed #overratedMVP #overratedCOY #onemanteamsdontwinsh*t #KobeLebronWadedidntwinontheirowneither.

  • mj23

@Myung, You’re probably just glad that they aren’t getting swept this year. This may be the last game they will win in the series.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

That Twitter is a funny place.

  • Myung

I’ll always cheer for my Hawks because that’s my team, mj23. For the record though, I predicted a Heat-OKC Finals so in spite of my biases and wants, I don’t think the Hawks or Mavs will make the finals either. OKC better win tonight, or my prediction’s going up in flames.

  • mj23

@Myung, yeah, Adidas needs to stick with soccer.

  • Myung

BC, just try to say this once. It doesn’t hurt to try: “You’re right. I was wrong.”

  • Myung

    Good morning, E.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Nick Tha Quick

Isn’t think where we accuse players of faking ankle injuries for media attention, feeding the hype machine, blah blah. So if DRose comes out tomorrow night and does something spectacular on that ankle, it should raise more suspicion that Donald Trump at a border crossing station.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Nick Tha Quick

    *This*

  • mj23

Anyone that says Drose is overrated is a moron and doesn’t know sh*t about Basketball.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    Nah, I’m good.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

That being said, i think i might have completed the task of breaking my tv/any other piece of furniture within reach, if KB 8×3 had hit that last shot. Kidd missing a FT could have been costly.
    Oh well, coulda, shoulda, woulda….
Game 2 is gonna be fierce.

  • http://www.walshsportsblog.com Darren

Was that Rose injury the most unnecessary injury ever? Game out of reach with a few seconds to go, why did he go near the Hawk’s player?

  • http://www.dimemag.com Royal

Mavs stole that game….great win though….IDK how L.A let the Mavs right back in the game after being up 16 in the third..

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Another inefficient night by Rose from the field, shooting 11 for 27 form the field and making only 2 out of 7 from behind the arc. If I’m a Hawks fan, I want Rose shooting the ball, not Deng or Boozer. Scoopy Jackson, who’s clearly a Rose apologist, better lay into Rose on 1st and 10, because he sure was trying to set Boozer up to be the fall guy yesterday.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

HUGE props to the Mavs last night. I was wrong about them during the regular season, when I said they weren’t contenders. Dirk was phenomenal last night!

  • http://www.onitsukatigermexico66.us onitsuka tiger

rose injury, but he will be ok in the next game. let us bless him.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

I really hope Rose is ok. SMH

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

“If I’m a Hawks fan, I want Rose shooting the ball, not Deng or Boozer.”
    spoken like a true moron.
drose had good looks, just missed em, and best believe he won’t continue to miss them.
and he didn’t get to the line once, expect that to change.
good news is boozer actually showing some sign of life, deng is still deng, and derrick can still get 24 and 10 on a bad night.
bad news, defense was horrendous and the bench needed to step up a little more in the 2nd half.
otherwise, good look Mavs, i would love to see them come outta the west.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

and i don’t think you know how to use “smh” properly either, orange.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Hey, if I’m a Bulls fan, which I am, I want Rose shooting the ball too.
    What a coinky-dink!
airs, what do you expect from Orange though?
He’s proven he only comments on two things – how awesome the Knicks are and how much the Bulls suck.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

You forgot one…..how horrible the Heat are too. Oh…and how much he wants the Celtics to bring home another title.

  • Vince5

Might be the year for Dallas! (Even though we hear the same thing every year)

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

BTW, I still say Bulls in 6.
Offensively, they missed a lot of good looks and didn’t get the O boards like they do, so it wasn’t anything the Hawks did on defense.
And defensively, Crawford and Johnson did whatever they wanted out there. There was no stopping them anyhow. And the defense was meh.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

We’re still waiting to see that “IAMGREENUNTILTHEPOSTSEASONISOVER” screen name, BTW.

  • showtime

Hmm.. maimi was the only team to maintain home-court, interesting 2nd round. huh

  • wssss

lakers need to stop making excuses. PERIOD.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

i dunno, guess im half hoping orange isn’t as dense as he makes himself out to be.
    one can dream.
i wanted it to be bulls in 5, but its looking like 6.
ppl are saying rose took bad shots; he didn’t. he missed good looks. and as well as boozer played for about 2 quarters, we still need more out of him.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Will anyone be surprised if each of these series go into Game 3 all tied at 1-1? I mean, that only seems logical. The Bulls should get on track with Rose getting his MVP award and the benefit on 20 free throws to validate the award presentation. The Lakers should pull out a win aided by favorable calls their way. The Thunder should shake off the malaise and get hot enough to pull one out. And tonight, I think the Heat have a good shot going up 2-0…but I also think, with Joey Crawford as the lead official tonight, there will be more horrid officiating and the Heat will fall short. I’m not going to be surprised at any of these results.

  • Angel of Stern

co-sign Eboy, Joey Crawford can be insane sometimes and crazy unpredictible

  • el_larsen

great game by joe johnson.jeff teague played right.josh smith should stop throwing jumpshots lol.lakers and bulls lost great night for me.go c’s

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

As long as Violet Palmer isn’t out there too, E, Miami should be good. The League did that to the Bulls in the Pacers series and it almost cost them Game 1.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Man, I messed around and went to sleep on the Mavs when the Lakers punched them in the face in the third and they looked rattled. I even thought “Same old Mavs as I wearily climbed into bed.”
    Stupid me.
But, I was happy to see my dawg Joe Cool go OFF! Yesssssssssssss and “Suck it” to all the Brandon Roy fanboys. Lol.
Nah, for real though, when Joe doesn’t over dribble, attacks quickly and gets in the paint he’s the third best offensive shooting guard in the league. When he doesn’t do those things, he’s a bum. I hope he keeps playing smart.
Oh yeah, Isiah Thomas. That is all.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I thought the Bulls were killing on the offensive glass. They are incredible.
And they set more moving screens than Boston. Easily.
Atlanta played bad defense, to be honest. The Bulls just didn’t make shots and the Hawks did. The Hawks have taken a step backwards as a defensive team from the Woodson years, in my opinion. And Josh Smith has taken twelve steps back.
And Al Horford might be overrated.
But Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford are awesome, and I didn’t realize Jeff Teague was that fast.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Man, Kobe is wild:
Bryant repeatedly said it wasn’t his fault, pointing instead to the Lakers’ reserves. “It had nothing to do with me,” he said. “I’m going to do what I do. I think the second unit, we’ve got to make a conscious effort to get the ball in to Pau and get the ball in to Andrew.” Los Angeles Times
    Really son?

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Wow Allenp… Kobe really brings out the shank with those comments, especially considering that the last 3 Laker possesions went like this; Kobe drives turns the ball over straight to JET, Kobe stumbles over his own legs freeing up Ason Kidd to swipe the ball from Pau, Kobe gets a good open look from 3 of a good drawn up inbounds play – misses the 3. Kobe played a good game but like a Chinaman in a p*rnmovie he came up way short down the stretch…

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Teddy is going to be really, really pissed at that last sentence. As he should be.
But you’re right about Kobe’s shady comments. Dude is unbelievable.
And watch Kobe defenders say “Well it’s true, what is he supposed to say?”

  • Myung

“like a Chinaman in a p*rnmovie he came up way short down the stretch… ” If you’re going to make a tasteless joke, how about we at least steer clear of using derogatory/racist words like “Chinaman?” Thanks.

In other news; I made a handsome amount of money on the two games last night. Had a wager on Ws for both ATL & Mavs. If Madrid goes through or makes it into overtime today this week will have been spectacular from a gambling-standpoint. It is a long shot though, Messi & Co. looks strong (whenever they use their energy on playing instead of flopping…).

  • Myung

Lz, betting on the money line for the Hawks was REALLY ballsy. I’m a huge Hawks fan and HOPED we would win, but I never would’ve put money on the money line last night. I would’ve taken the 9.5 points but straight up? No way. You are the man!

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

Btw what happened to Josh Smith and his newfound focus on working on the interior, looks like he is back to being a boneheaded chucker again. Sad, he could have been going places with that other mentality.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Larry Drew is his buddy. That’s what happened.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-talk/2011 Diesel

Bulls just plain old got outworked last night. To top it off Rose gets hurt on probably the most meaningless play someone could get hurt on. I’d like to see Rose drive to the basket more in game two and get Teague in foul trouble. Hopefully that forces JJ to switch over and cover him…which hopefully gets him tired on offense.

  • JTaylor21

At least Drew seems like he knows more about the game than Mike Brown’s twin.

  • Myung

I bash Josh a lot (eboy can attest to this) on Facebook so I won’t do that very much here. I DO think last night was an extreme case of ineffectiveness, but I think the reality is (correct me if I’m wrong here), many of the people watching Atlanta are really watching them closely for the first time these past 3 weeks. We got a handful of national games, but for the most part, you don’t get to see us a lot. His poor shot selection is not something new. Yes, he IS back to shooting 3′s again (after dropping it completely last season), but his infatuation with the long jumper has always been there. I’ve been saying for years that if you watch him on a nightly basis like I have, he leaves a lot (A LOT) to be desired. Only when you watch him once a month or see the Sportscenter highlights do you think he’s an elite player. He is so gifted athletically that he will have some very special nights from time to time, but those nights are almost always followed up with average to terrible games. I don’t have League Pass or NBA TV so I’ve seen more of the Grizzlies these past 3 weeks than I’ve seen in the past 5 YEARS. I now have opinions on Marc Gasol and ZBo and OJ Mayo and Mike Conley. I get the feeling that’s how it is with much of the viewing public and Josh Smith right now. Again, we’ve been on TV more than Memphis these past 3 to 4 years, but unless you watch him over a series, you don’t get to see how maddening his game truly is. He has SO MUCH potential athletically, but when you’re in your 7th season, I tend to think you are what you are. Again, in fairness to Josh (trying to be objective), last night was on the far end of the spectrum. Despite his shortcomings, he’s usually not THAT bad. But again, what you guys are seeing is what we (Hawks fans) have seen for 7 years now. His game is as up and down as many player in this League.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Tha Hawks are not advancing like that. This might even be a 5 game series for Chicago if Atlanta tries to win that way again. Does anybody have the count on long 2′s attempted by ATL last night?

  • Anonymosdef

Interesting article over on TrueHoop regarding a certain snake and his “clutch” ability. Is it just me or has the word “clutch” seemingly overnight (really just a 4 game strecth down on South Beach) become what “swag” use to be? I hate both terms for the record…

  • JTaylor21

Staying true to form Kobe finds a way to blame everyone under the sun but himself for a loss. Dude took 29 shots while no one else on the team took more than 10 and to have 0 assists as the primary ballhandler reeks of extreme ballhoggery. Of course the media and fans have already wiped the miss at the end off their memory banks because in their minds KB is the so-called “closer” and has 5 rings to prove it.
Give me the Logo and his one measly ring any day over dude.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

ATL made some RIDICULOUS shots last night, i don’t count on that happening again.
josh smith was doing the bulls a favor by taking so many jumpers.
but the bulls’ defense weren’t doing any favors for themselves. waaay too many open looks/second chance points.

  • Thawindy

LMAO at Ewigmatic and airshead! They’re both so delusional about their favorite volume chucker. Hawks in 6!

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

I went with straight up. I just had a hunch regarding both games. Have a basketball discussion-tread with some friends on Facebook. Everybody were laughing at me yesterday when I posted my bets, today they all want me to buy them beers…

  • Thawindy

Da Bulls are da overrated. EAT IT Ewigmatic!

  • Myung

nbk, I don’t believe we’ll shoot like we did from downtown (54% or something). I agree with you there. But then again, when we won game 1 vs. ORL, people everywhere said it was a fluke and that we wouldn’t shoot like that again. But somehow we won 4 games and advanced. Jamal Crawford is truly the epitome of our squad right now. Earlier this season, he went through a CRAZY slump where he was shooting like %20 from the field for about 3 weeks. He is not our most important player, but he is a big key, and when he is not scoring, we struggle as a team to score (because he and Joe are the only two guys who can create their own shots). He came to life vs. ORL, and every game, I wondered if that would be the game when his shot would stop dropping. Other than Game 5, he stayed hot. And he was hot last night. I don’t enjoy the way we play offense because we’re all ISO and we LOVE shooting jumpers (never a safe way to play basketball in the big picture) and have no inside game… but the flip side is, if you’re hitting like that, you become VERY hard to beat. I’d prefer to be a more consistent offensive team, but like the hot blackjack player at the table, sometimes, you simply defy logic and reason and sound gameplanning. I believe Chicago is a better team than us. I believe chicago will most likely advance past us to play Miami in the ECF. But I also believe we’ve got a few more games in us like last night and will stretch this to 7. And if somehow we can hold court at home, then we’ll pull the upset and win this series in 6. I wouldn’t bet on it, but I won’t be surprised either. Crawford as a player and the Hawks as a team are on a crazy hot streak at the blackjack table. Everything’s coming up 20′s and 21′s. I think it will end soon, but I’m enjoying the ride while it lasts. All the pundits and most of you on this site said we’d lose to ORL. Now we’re playing with house money.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

^i thought this dude was a bulls fan.
    orange, is that you?

  • JTaylor21

Just like I predicted last night, DRose isn’t getting any of the criticism on here that Westbrook receives on a daily basis for all the chucking he did last night. Deng had a monster 1st half yet Rose comes out in the second looking to score. Deng was 8-12 while the PG takes 27 shots while making only 11, now something is wrong with that picture. It seems like Rose can do no wrong in the eyes of fans and media.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

    i meant that for “thawindy”

  • Thawindy

airshead needs to EAT IT! What an idiot. lol

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

that’s clearly Myung, look at the name lol. – Myung I’m with you on that 100% I just think Chicago’s defense, and the inevitable adjustments Thibs makes will end the hot shooting, and Atlanta will have to start playing inside out. (which IMO they should already be doing, the offense should go through Horford) – And Jamal Crawford is top 5 most fun players in the league to watch

  • Thawindy

Hawks in 6 and I’m a Bulls fan, not some delusional fanboy like airshead and Ewigmatic!

Ohh and another thing, Kobe’s two fabricated ‘pattern’ expressions; ‘the chin-jut’ and ‘the shirt in mouth’ are becoming so funny. He goes to them as soon as he hits a couple of semi-crunch time shots. Dude’s skillset is tight but boy his demanor is so fake and fabricated that it is funny…

did you watch the game JT? those shots rose took -and missed- were good shots. they weren’t anything like Russel’s.

  • ThaWindy

Please check your name before posting. Especially before saying some dumb shi*!

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

JTaylor – are you under the impression that Luol Deng creates his own shots? You don’t see the huge difference between having Kevin Durant and not having Kevin Durant? Derrick Rose has to shoot a lot. Russell Westbrook never does. Chicago is a 1 seed with their “chucker” – OKC is a 4 seed who doesn’t win, when Russell Westbrook plays the “chucker” role. Gross, the two situations aren’t related, one shoots a lot because he should, the other’s intelligence is in question. One just one MVP, the other just lost to the Grizzlies very handily, and had more turnovers then assists, and led the team in shot attempts.

  • Myung

I definitely expect the adjustment (plus, the refs are giving to give the Bulls most of the calls… I’m not making excuses… but we all know how the League gets when the home favorite loses game 1… watch what happens in OKC tonight and at Staples in Game 2). I expect we just might get blown out in Game 2. We definitely won’t win. So I’m already looking ahead to Game 3 as our next Must Win game. The Bulls are not a great offensive team (Rose notwithstanding), but I know they’re a much better defensive team than what we saw last night. I know the adjustment’s coming. But here’s the one twist: our two main scorers (Joe and Jamal) take a lot of bad shots. Defensive adjustments often minimize open looks. Joe and Jamal have no conscience. They’ll shoot when double teamed and have a man in their face. I’m not sure if defensive adjustments hurt guys with no conscience very much, if that makes sense. But yeah, Thibs is a great, great coach and I fully expect this series to be knotted at 1 when it’s played here in Atlanta for Game 3.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

I think both Hawks and Mavs will get to a 7th game. With Dallas having a good chance of knocking LAL out if the Hawks stays hot and Rose stays chucking Hawks could be looking at a ECF. If Dirk keeps up this level of play, Kobe will look the second best player in the second playoff series in a row. Kind of funny for the perceived best player in the game.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

myung, you are so rational, its disturbing.
i hope that came across as a compliment like i meant it to be.

  • JTaylor21

Like I said, Deng went off in the 1st half but instead of finding a way to keep that going in the 2nd half, Rose comes out chucking. His shot was off all night long while Deng’s was falling, a true PG would have found a way to get Deng quality looks. Also stop with the excuse of his team needs him to shoot crap. I understand he’s the best scorer but his team needs him to shoot efficiently not the 38% from the field he’s been shooting so far in the playoffs.
Dude is the MVP, he has to start playing like one.

  • MUBWAR

I just wanna say 24 points on 27 shots. If this so called MVP and Westbrook continue to take that many shots, their teams will lose. Let’s go Heat

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Myung – I like your reasoning, Atlanta is a double edged sword. Should be a great series, I just wish they would go through Horford a little more, I think they would be more of a threat (against Chicago) if their offense went through him.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Myung is the man! That is all.

  • Anonymosdef

The Bulls remind me of basketball’s version of the Baltimore Ravens/The Eagles from this past year. Great D (usually) and an offense that relies heavily one explosive guy to lead em to victory. Could be explained better but ya know. Also, love D Rose but how far can he lead them while shooting below 40%? I dont blame him he has to take those shots but we are 6 games in and while I do expect him to slap the eff off a few times at this point can we really expect him to get any better and do it all alone with Chi being successful? Couldnt help watching JJ go off last night and thinking he would have been the PERFECT 2 for the Bulls. From his and Derrick’s similar on court demeanor, to his versatility/ability to create for himself, and his solid d. In hindsight regardless of what’s happened in the playoffs he would have been a better fit than Booz who was supposed to bring low post scoring but always seems to face up and dive to the rack. I know money talks tho. Rambling…

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Rose has done that in 1 game in the playoffs, after he carrier them to where they are, won a couple Indiana games by playing that way down the stretch, its hard to critisize something that works more often then it doesn’t. Westbrook has already done it twice, and OKC hasn’t won when he does it (shoots more shots then everyone else). And a good PG would have found Deng shots? More like a good defense would recognize the hot hand and not let him get shots while letting everyone else try and get theirs…..which is what happened.

  • ThaWindy

Don’t critisize Rose or else airshead, Ewigmatic, et al. will rush to his defense like good lil’ FANBOYS wearing their ROSE colored glasses. FACE IT, Rose is having a bad post season. I guarantee you if CP3 were our point guard last night, we win by 10 plus points and CP3 likely coming close to 20 dimes. Just keeping it REAL y’all. Da Bulls!

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com/ airs

it wasn’t for lack of trying, JT.
rose had 10 assists, and would’ve had more if the bigs hit some shots, korver too.
now when deng isn’t looking for his anymore and the people are missing these shots, what else is rose supposed to do.

  • ThaWindy

I wish the Bulls were still an “under the radar” team. Too much hype and they bought into it. Joe and Jamal were pick your poison. JC made Korver and Brewer look like they had skates on. Joe looked like he had on a Suns jersey. Bulls will make the correction.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

@anonymosdef, the Bulls remind you of the Eagles because of the great D and an offense that relies on one explosive guy? OK, Mike Vick, Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Lesean Mccoy, yeah that looks like one guy. BTW the Eagles do not have GREAT D like the Bulls do, they relied mostly on their explosive offense and they had a shaky D.

  • ThaWindy

Foul trouble is I would look to slow down Jamal and Joe. Make them play defensive. Hard to score when your on the bench in foul trouble.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

@jtaylor, Deng can hardly dribble between his legs, I love him and he works hard but he can´t create his own shot, the only time he really moves with the ball is when he cuts from the top of the key, or from the elbow in a straight line to the basket, that´s about it. Now I agree, Drose needs to be more efficient, and I´d like to see him shoot a max. of two 3´s per game, I want him to go back to his midrange game which was working so well for him in his 1st and 2nd year and start using his floater a little more (he uses it incredibly well) to avoid some contact, to remain fresh throughout the game.

  • ThaWindy

Will you please STOP posting under my phucking name.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Joe Johnson can get and make the same shots he got last night for an entire series. He wasn’t hitting super tough shots, but they weren’t easy shots either. They were pull up jumpers. That’s what Joe Johnson has hit for years. Mid-range pull up jumpers are his bread and butter and where he is freaking deadly. The problem is when he stretches to a bunch of off the dribble three pointers and holding the ball for 10 seconds. If he catches, reverse pivots and makes a move, he’s fine.
Jamal Crawford can make any shot at any time and if the Bulls continue to believe Kyle Korver can guard him, even with help, they are going to be very sad. Very, very sad.
But, the Bulls are killers on the glass, and they usually play awesome defense. They only did one of those things last night.

  • JTaylor21

The man is shooting 38% from 2, 22% from 3 and 41 assists with 22 TOs in the playoffs so far. Sheeeeeeit, he might as well be taking Westbrook type shoots with those percentages. Rose is the MVP now, so we have to hold him to the same high standards we held past MVPs to.

  • Anonymosdef

Yea like I said I could have maybe been more clear but ya know. I threw the eagles in there strictly for the Vick/Rose comparison in terms of the leader on offense being so explosive. I guess they are the old ravens with D Rose playing Jamal Lewis aka the work horse and Jo (Thibs?) as Ray Lewis.

  • mj23

If Bulls lose to the Hawks, it will be a cake-walk for the winner of Heat/Boston series. I think Heat would sweep the Hawks, but Boston would have trouble based on their past history. Bulls match up better against the Heat, and that would be an exciting series. Chi-town all the way!!!

who isn’t holding Rose to MVP standards? He was the reason they struggled offensively last night. But not because he was doing anything wrong, he was just not playing that well. There’s a huge difference. Russell Westbrook does things he shouldn’t and isn’t supposed to do; like ignore the offense, Derrick Rose stays within his game and team strategy, save for a few too many 3pt attempts. Atlanta shot 54% its not like they beat Chicago with an average effort, they played freaking great.

Well, I think referencing a stereotype that plays on the idea that Asian men are inadequate lovers, and therefore not real men, is not funny.
It’s like playing on the idea that Mexicans are a lazy, or black people love welfare and jail.

JTaylor, for real, CO-SIGN! The truth is Derbrick Rose has thus far in the 2011 Playoffs shown to be nothing short of a chucker marauding as a point guard. I’m not going to be shocked at all if the Hawks take game 2. This aint the pesky Pacers. There is a very good chance the next time the Hawks come back to Chi-Town, they’ll be going for the close out – that is if there is a game 5 (TBA). I must confess, these Hawks are growing on me man. I’ve never heard the stereotype that Mexicans are lazy. Those who say that must not know any Mexicans.
I say where you’re getting at, Allen.
And I may be an a** for bringing it up.
It’s just my background, though. In the military we all clowned on each other, and racial jokes were prevalent, but I can understand if it bothers some.
I’ll just dead that talk and move on.
Anyways, does Hollinger have some crazy, voodoo stat that accounts for level of difficulty of shots taken?
If not, can we at least agree Rose would lead the league in that category?
And could we at least say that possibly, maybe that may account for his “sh*tty FG%”?

Allenp; actually the joke was referencing to Asian men generally having a smaller penis (which is a stastical fact), whether that makes them inadequate lovers or lesser men I wouldn’t know. But that wasn’t the reference I was getting at hence the ‘short’. Anyways the joke was stupid and I typed it out without thinking about that it might step on some peoples toes. I apologized for my mistake, and will gladly do it again. So let’s not go overboard about this.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I knew it was the short peen joke LZ. That’s what I meant by inadequate.
    Enigmatic
I understand exactly what you’re saying. There have been times, when I was on sports teams or hanging out with my guy friends, that we make totally in appropriate jokes that played on popular stereotypes. And, even though I did it then and laughed, in the back of my mind I always thought “How would I feel if somewhere somebody of another race was making a similar joke about me?”
    It’s a tricky thing.
And I’m not trying to beat up on LZ. Just like I didn’t beat up on Eboy. We all make mistakes and say things that seem innocuous to us, but have deeper meanings to others.
The key is to recognize our mistake and not become defensive when somebody says they have an issue. After all, ALL of us have areas we don’t want spoken about disrespectfully. For Enigmatic it might be the military or his family, even if he shrugs off racial humor. It’s all about truly following the Golden Rule.
And I am done with my sermon for today.

  • Myung

I was referencing the term “Chinaman” more than the unfunny joke. Steve Kerr got in a lot of trouble for calling Yao that during a TNT broadcast. It’s not the most insulting thing you could say to an Asian, but it’s very outdated and has derogatory connotations. Lz apologized for it. No big deal. And you can say I was being sensitive about it, but let’s be real: if someone dropped a slur about black people on here, I’m sure Allen and others wouldn’t have been cordial about it, nor should they be. It’s one thing to talk about your favorite team or player on a basketball site, but no need to get personal or make racist jokes. One interesting sidenote: Allen felt like an Asian person would’ve been offended by it. I guess racism is only real when it’s geared towards black people? Personally, if someone on here made a racist remark (towards Asians, Hispanics, black people, etc), I would’ve stood up against it, even if wasn’t geared towards me because racism itself bugs me to death. It says something about you, Allen, that you pointed out the racism but deflected it to the Asians to handle it. I’m sure you’ll have something to write back showing how I’m wrong.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Enigmatic, for real, check your diapers and get your bottle. SMH

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Myung – I COMPLETELY overlooked that he used that term.
I thought you objected to the stereotype.
I’m able to shrug off stereotypes, whether they’re directed at my race or any other, but even I must agree there’s no place for slurs on this type of format.
That’s different. So I’m sorry I overlooked that, and you had every right call him out on that one.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Scoop Jackson – “Bulls in 5″ LOL

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Nah.
It showed that I wasn’t going to ream LZ because he seems like a decent dude. Just like I didn’t ream Eboy when he said “Filipino Simpleton” although I did correct him when he attempted to minimize it’s impact.
It’s problematic and racially insensitive no matter who you disparage, which is why I noted that Teddy is going to have a fit when he reads that, and he should be upset.
But, I don’t go out of my way to defend all races of people. I’ve got enough on my plate dealing with comments about black folks. I try to do the right thing, and step up when I have the energy, but mainly I let other races decide for themselves what’s going to get their dander up, just like I decide for myself when I don’t like what’s being said about black folks.
For example, I didn’t pay much attention to the Chinaman designation despite noting that it was outdated. I though the small peen joke, and its relationship to impressions of Asian male virility, and the related issue of the prevalence interracial relationships involving Asian women, would be much more volatile. So, I was way off base as far as what offended you as an Asian male.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

I agree that Myung was right to call me out. The slur was uncalled for and I typed it out without thinking it into a racial context (where it obviously belongs). I have no problem admitting my mistake and apologizing for it. And just to clear it up; I am white but probably as far from a racist as you come, and will combat racist statements all day everyday. Believe me I am feeling extra stupid and embarrased for using that word. Once again I sincerly apologize to thos who were offended and everybody else for that matter.

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

And co-sign nbk’s 2:44 comment. However us haters are here spreading our own idiocy, I hope that the Kobe-boys are at least reading hahahahaha…

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I think there’s something more powerful when it comes to slurs.
I can’t brush off someone calling me “sp*c” the way I could them saying all my people are on welfare, for example.
My wife is white, and she has a cousin who’s middle name is “Bean” (a la Kobe), and her family members call her “Beaner”.
I politely asked them to put an end to that when I’m around. They had no idea it could be taken as a slur (they live in Alaska).
The crazy thing about it is, living back in Illinois in a predominantly Mexican-American neighborhood, we all affectionately called each other that, much in the same way black people might affectionately call each other the “n” word.
So I was surprised, frankly, by my anger and disapproval at them using that term, even though it was being used innocently enough.
My point of this story is one, racial slurs suck. But two, mistakes can happen and the most positive result is to educate people, as was the case with LZ today.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

i’m cool if a laker fan comes in here and speaks his mind, just not the kind whose brains work in a similar way to IHAVENOIDEAWHATMYTEAMSCOLORIS4EVER

Kobe should have tried to get AB more involved. Odom should have guarded Dirk better. Pau should be aggressive always instead of every 8th time he touches the ball. The bench needs to produce. Phil needs to play the starters more when the don’t, and finally Ronnie has to make “a” 3 pointer…

  • Myung

I appreciate your explanations, Allen and Enigmatic. Like I said, it’s no big deal because Lz owned up to it quickly and apologized. I don’t think he meant any harm. BTW, I am always sensitive to race related topics (as are many on this board) because of the racism I faced growing up here in the States (and in the South to boot), but I also try to be understanding of where people are coming from. I know some of my friends would’ve been spewing profanity at Lz for his comment, but there was no need to go down that route. I believe his apology was sincere so I’m cool with that. I can’t speak for ALL Asians obviously, and someone (be it Teddy or anyone else) might come on here and start this whole thing up again. I can only speak for myself. I remember writing to Lang back in 2002 (he printed my e-mail back on the old orange/gray SLAMonline site), giving my Asian take on the World Cup (being played in South Korea), and a fellow Korean wrote in and blasted me for my stance, basically saying I was not being pro-Asian enough. I do have a chip on my shoulder, I admit, but I’m not a militant all-things-Asian guy either, like many of my friends (ex. I don’t consider Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian to be my favorite players by default).

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Allen and Myung are on my waveband.
And LZ’s comment was so insanely racist that I can’t even be mad–it’s clear that he’s out of touch with a lot of things. It’s nice and all to apologize, but note the “It’s statistically proven.” LOL, wtf?!
Ya’ know, I don’t really think he’s been properly educated, Enigmatic…

  • izzo

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

BTW the stereotype in this case is far worse than the slur, imo. Allen was spot on. A lot of people are ignorant about the connotations of “Chinaman” (see Rick Kamla), and really don’t mean any harm, while the small peen sh!t is just juvenile.
It’s funny how people actually think these stereotypes are true though. Like, for instance, the way LZ thinks his statement is scientific fact. That’s almost worse than the joke itself.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Sun Yue is still my favorite player.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

And for me, personally, the reason why I believe slurs are worse than stereotypes is because when you get upset over a stereotype, it feeds the whole “if you’re upset about it, than it must be true” argument.
I shrug it off because I believe to acknowledge it is to give it more power.
A slur is an insult fueled by hate that to me, is just too hard to turn the other cheek over.

The Hawks went toe to toe with the Bulls on the glass. @NBK, if anyone is showing their ignorance right now, it’s you. That’s the truth, you big BABY!

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

oh yeah what in the world is your meaning of ignorant?

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

This website is weird. It’s like the Jerry Springer of day time commenting sections sometimes.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

ORANGE is right (*Chris from Family Guy voice* “WHAAAAAAAAAAT?”).
The Bulls did overachieve this year.
They’re ahead of schedule, about where most in the organization thought they’d be two or three years from now, not now.
Which means the Bulls will be even scarier in the next few seasons.
Maybe not better record-wise, but more dangerous and Unf★ckwitable™.
    Scary thought…

  • http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/04/glen-davis-expects-a-brawl-against-the-knicks/ IAMORANGE4EVER

@NBK: Apparently you misremember, which doesn’t surprise me, being that you come off like such a douche and all. It was easy to search here on SLAM too… just typed in your silly name, and the words Suns fan. Here it is: Posted by NBK, April, 14th at 2:04 pm: “that suns fan sure is crazy about the knicks.” Click my name for proof if you still are in denial about it. You sure do obsess over me like some online stalker. Get a life kid. SMH

    LONG… LIVE… THE KING.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

NBK: Posted: Apr.7 at 2:56 pm
but I am not at all surprised that IAMORANGE4EVER said that. And BTW, the Knicks main color is Blue, not Orange. You implying your a suns fan by that name, just to let you know. Its been botherin me for a while – check the dates there sugarpile

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Anything you would like to say you ignorant know nothing

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

just incase you were under the impression that I actually called you “ignorant” no I didn’t I implied that your ignorant. ANd since you might not know what that means, here: ig·no·rant/ˈignərənt/Adjective
    1. Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.

    (Still confused?)

  • http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/04/polladaday-dantonis-future/ IAMORANGE4EVER

^I’m not at all surprised NBK is still shooting AIR BALLS. SMH…Kid definitely has problems. (Click my name for proof) IMO, he comes off like a douche and runner, but I’ll try to give him a chance in the future. I’m no hater. Hold your head up NBK, it’s not your fault. Blame your parents. lol

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    Ooooh…he went there.
    That’s uncalled for…

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

its actually pointless to respond to someone that dumb. – my fault everyone, I didn’t mean to subjugate you to reading all that. I clearly laid out the exchange between me and orange and he still posted that? lol, whatever, atleast we know he can use the website portion of the comment box now.

  • http://Slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Soooo… LeBron only got 4 MVP votes, huh?

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Sounds about right.

  • http://www.slamonline.com unf*ckwitable

cosign nbk on the Drose Westbrook thing. Chucking with Durant on your team is NOT the same as chucking with Boozer or Deng as your next best option.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

^ Trademarks ain’t what they used to be, lol.

  • http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/140377/20110502/osama-bin-laden-body.htm nbk

I’m pretty surprised Dwight only had 3 first place votes. I surely thought Hollinger had brainwashed more people then that.

  • http://www.slamonline.com unf*ckwitable

im not gonna lie enig, i shamelessly stole your word for my handle. Sue me if you like, maybe ill put in some small print after my comments giving you your props.

  • http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/140377/20110502/osama-bin-laden-body.htm nbk

who were you before that though?

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Nah, that comment was props enough.
But it WOULD be dope if you used something like this after every comment as a signature:

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

@ LZ: Nah I don’t know you personally so I don’t h@te you, and I don’t think you’re a bad person, but it’s still pretty astonishing that you think the worst part of your comment was the slur, and not the actual joke itself (which led to the mysterious “statistical fact,” which was probably worse of a blunder than your initial comment).

  • http://www.slamonline.com unf*ckwitable

haha i dont know how to get the italics happening. @Nbk it doesnt matter who I was, its who I am now thats important.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

It’s all good though, you apologized and I think you mean well (now) so no hard feelings.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

yeah, who were you before that though?
And are you still on here commenting as someone else?
Let me find out you’re really Eboy!! LMAO

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

$5 says unf*ckwitable is Tarzan Cooper.

  • http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/140377/20110502/osama-bin-laden-body.htm nbk

SO you didn’t like your former reputation here? — I’ve been tempted to change my handle in here to what I more commonly “go by” but I just can’t get away from my identity as nbk, whatever that is, good or bad.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I’ve personally thought about using my real name on here instead of “Enigmatic” but I’ve built a rep here as Enigmatic, and feel like I’d have to start all over again as Rigo Gonzalez.
Plus my real name ain’t as dope.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Your real name is Rigo Gonzalez? Dude that name is unf*ckwitable!

  • http://chicagonow.com/sports/bulls Diesel

I just like the way Diesel sounds better than my real name: Max Power

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

@ nbk: Nah the Knicks *main* color is probably the orange because it’s a lot more significant/unique to New York–being that the color orange represents the Dutch, and the word Knickerbocker takes its roots from the Dutch colonialists.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    Rigo Gonzalez.
    That name is g.o.a.t.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

Max Power is g.o.a.t., too. lol

  • http://bulls.com airs

i wonder what bryan crawford’s real name is.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Max Power is dope as hell, tho!

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Not sure if Max Power is Diesel’s real name lol. I think he got it from the Simpsons, haha.

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

Just trying this on for size…

  • http://chicagonow.com/sports/bulls Diesel

Yeah that was a joke. Sorry I should have figured that wouldn’t have worked well through written word.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

LOL I tried to post under my real name and it’s under moderation.
I promise, SLAM, I didn’t steal my name or email address from myself!

So what if I use a fake email account?

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

    …vf

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Yeah, seems the SLAM comment gods won’t allow me to post under my real name for the time being…

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    there we go…

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

Teddy just google NYK team colors. Orange is Phoenix, planet orange is what Phoenix calls it’s fanbase. The Knicks wear blue with orange trim. Blue is listed as their first or main color depending on where you look. And they haven’t been the knickerbockers for over 20 years, but that’s a cool fact, Fa real about the dutch, never knew that

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    “IAMBLUE4EVER” sounds like a manic-deppresant though.
Which I suppose would come with being a Knicks fan. Lol.
To be fair, isn’t he a Syracuse fan? So couldn’t the orange be for Syracuse?

  • http://Www.fiba.com Darksaber

Hahaharrr, a Max Power reference. Luv it.

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

If he is cool, he shoulda said that. Lol as I quoted from April 7th I was just letting him know cuz it bothered me. I thought he was ignorant of the team colors and still think so. If he’s a syracuse fan and that’s the reason behind the name then why didn’t he just say so? I’m ok with being wrong, but not insulted lol

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    LOL @ Enigmatic. IAMBLUE4EVER, ahahaha.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

IAMORANGE is a fellow Knick fan, so he understands my pain.

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

That guy “Enigmatic” is an idiot…

  • http://www.slamonline.com unf*ckwitable

@nbk, enigmatic(or Rigo) im not a very regular poster on here so i wouldnt of had much of a rep at all.

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

We’re just curious, unf*ckwitable. I wanna know who you were rolling as before.
Sooper, is Sooperfadeaway the name you’ve thought of switching to on here… or whap-a-saurus? Whatever the hell that is…lol

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

Yeah sooperfadeaway. But it don’t matter to me much. Whap is what happens in a jumper is all net, it’s the sound-exaggerated. Whap-a-sauras is pretty simple after that I think….

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

Well, I’ve taken to calling you Sooper on my own, cause frankly “nbk” kinda reminds me of “nkotb”, and ain’t a damn thang gangsta about NKOTB…except maybe modern day Donnie in Saw.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Hey Danny Ainge: packed your bags yet?

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

Haha it’s all good I don’t care either way, plus I caught a grip of sh*t about my name when I was a nuisance.

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

Damn it, Darksaber, you’ve just rendered my DVR useless tonight…

  • http://Www.fiba.com Darksaber

Oh sh*t. Sorry, ‘Matic. My bad. How’did u stay away from the updates on twitter though? U were just there minutes ago.
Didn’t mean to spoil the suspense, though.

  • http://wwww.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

    hey where did enigmatic go?

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

I got on twitter shortly after I saw your comment on here.
@Tarzan – RIP Enigmatic. For real tho, are you unf*ckwitable?? lol

  • http://philosopher.view@blogspot.com The Philosopher

    You guys are g.o.a.t.(s)

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

Philo, you use G.O.A.T. too often, I’m starting to think you’re not using it as a compliment but rather a sarcastic insult. lol

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Rigo Gonzalez is f*cking horrible. You should be posting on a Univision fanpage with that name.

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

Yeah, I probably done wore out “g.o.a.t.”

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

NBK… Where not understanding (and clearly obsessing over) another commenter’s name happens, and then having the audacity to call that commenter “dumb.” You gotta be kidding me. FYI, I don’t care who’s online “friends” with him here at SLAM, that DNA mixture that goes by “nbk” is SLOW. Again, I’m not a hater… I truly hope the kid finds some happiness in his life and smartens up!
