Rose: Bulls Will Be Hungrier Next Season

The MVP clearly wasn’t happy to fall short to the Heatles, but the 22-year-old knows the Chi-Town mantra well: There’s always next year: “Derrick Rose vowed to learn from this, to get better, and insisted the Chicago Bulls would come back hungrier after the Miami Heat knocked them out in the Eastern Conference finals. Clearly, the standards are soaring now. As good as they were this season, the Bulls came up short. [...] ‘I think it’s going to make everybody hungry,’ Rose said.”

They can be starving next year but it won’t matter unless they get new personnel.
A new SG that can play both ways would be huge.
Somehow getting rid of Boozer would be huger.
But that last one isn’t happening.

  • ChristianBullen

Derrick Rose with a consistent outside J, and better decision making down the stretch would be hugest.

Stop calling them the Heatles. That is so lame….

  • rich

they need to get another sg who can hit the outside shot and attack with a quick first step like a jr smith(free agent) i dont think there is anything wrong with boozers game he just wasnt aggesive enough and did not have enough post up opportunities and that puzzles me considering bosh was guarding him

  • jose

anyone know about the trade rumors surrounding OKC and Chi-town? just curious cuz i’ve heard about D-12 gettin involved among other things

  • http://www.slam.com dj

ithink the bulls will make d rose mvp again

  • RoG23

The playoffs really showed how overrated DRose is. Terrible fg percentage. and poor poor decision making. the fact that boozer didnt show up makes us feel like he was a 1 man team. he really needs to do a better job in getting his teammates involved. he is the pg you know… that said, dude is fast

funny how bulls fans already want to get rid of evilparrotface. most dont mention that rose freezes him out by taking terrible shots, or turning the ball over.

  • RoG23

@Tarzan Cooper: i agree. bulls aint even my team but yet i find myself thinking that way at times. then i remember Rose is the pg. and the pgs first job should always be to get your team comfortable and create easy shots for them in their comfort zone.

Betrayal Skull Dude ain’t as bad as Chicago fans make him out to be.

  • Holiday

Hey Boozer played here in Utah for about 6 seasons I believe, and yes he is that bad. He disappears every year in the playoffs, even with a great passer like D-Will he was garbage. Regular season he can put up decent numbers, but Taj Gibson should have gotten the start in the playoffs!

  • Holiday

And I may be wrong but I think D-Rose may be a lil overrated, seems like a lot of guys can guard him one on one but they set so many picks for him, at least that’s how it was at the game I was at he couldn’t shake D-Will but they were throwing 2 and 3 picks at him every time down… just sayin!

  • @mmj

They better be cuz they gave that series away we are better than the heat

  • robb

They don’t need a center they need a PF

  • http://www.bulls.com. Rigo Gonzalez

Tarzan – Rose has nothing to do with how sh*tty Boozer plays in the playoffs.
Boozer did that all by himself.

These dudes dont know anything about basketball. Derrick definitely needs to keeping improving his jumper and his decision making will get better with with experience. The main problem for the bulls was the fact that no team in the playoffs had anyy respect for anybodies ability to create shots on his team so they loaded up on derrick and the help was always in good position, so the bulls need to get a legit 2- guard who can be a threat shooting and scoring wise at all time. I just dont know who that guy is.

  • Mattroom

The Bulls’ offense was middling this season and Derrick Rose’s low shooting percentages were due to the inefficient offense. You can be sure that the Bulls will take a lot of time to work on that offense and if they cannot get a good shooting guard this season, Kyle Korver may see more minutes… Honestly, the Bull’s have much more to offer than what we saw this season. I think we should be the ones hungry to see more of the Bulls next year.

  • RoG23

Rose is not a natural passer, its gonna take some hard work. if he wants to become an elite pg, he needs an elite bball IQ. he cant play off athleticism forever. he needs to put in alot more work, which i am sure he is looking forward to doing this offseason.

  • http://dude Chukaz

you know what puzzles me? in college drose didn’t shoot the ball that much. He averaged just under 15 a game and he had a bunch of single digit scoring games and a bunch of single digit shot games. Where did that go? Why did he turn into such a ball hog?

  • http://www.slamoline.com Max

Because his team can’t score outside of luol.

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com airs

whoa we have carlos boozer apologists up in this site????
    NO WAY

  • http://pickandroll.tumblr.com airs

bottom line: no drose = no 62 wins, no playoffs, no ECF.

  • john

i still think melo shouldve gone to chicago.
drose cant do it all by himslef.

their next option would be getting andre iggy.
he gives you a little of everything on the wing, he’s a versatile player and defender. can get baskets, rebounds and make plays as well. he’s a good fit with the bulls.

    How’s the fish bitin, Rose?!

  • http://Slamonline.com Datkid

Rose is nice..but still overrated..I feel like I’ve been saying a lot of the things you guys are saying now all year..smmfh. To me rose is a pure og who has to score a lot…he doesn’t have the best iq yet but at the same tim he’s always looking to pass…but his teammates suck..so there’s that

  • rainman10

    Jason Richardson

  • JD

they ain’t going anywhere with this one man army
