Dwyane Wade on Hip Injury: ‘I’ll Be Fine Sunday’

DWade downplayed the hip contusion that limited him last night, and promised that he’ll be ready to go in Game 6 with the Miami Heat’s season on the line. From NBA.com: “He played the rest of the game and, with 10 points, was the game’s high scorer in the fourth quarter. Wade led Miami with 23 points, had eight assists and was 10-of-12 from the foul line. But he logged only 34:27 minutes, and the Heat were minus-13 when he was on the court. ‘You know I’m not going to [talk about the injury],’ Wade told reporters after the game. ‘It was unfortunate I had to leave the game. But I came back and I finished it.’ … ‘Once you’re on the court, you’re on the court,’ Wade said. ‘The doctor not ruling me out, I can come out and help my team with my presence on the floor. I’m smart enough to play the game without obviously being 100 percent.’ Wade also said: ‘I don’t have no excuses. I was able to help my team get an opportunity to win. And I’ll be fine Sunday.’ Teammate LeBron James said little changed for Miami when Wade was out. ‘It’s nothing you can really change,’ James said. ‘We just try to do the same thing as if he was in, but knowing that one of our scorers is down.’ Down but not out. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the extra day before Game 6 Sunday might be helpful to his recovery. ‘We’ll see if that’s enough,’ Spoelstra said. Wade already knew. ‘I’ll be good for Game 6,’ he reiterated.”

and DWADE no one wants to hear excuses from you anyway….. sore hip or not, that did not prevent you from crying and complaining to the refs throughout game…..

  • Gman

    ^hater.
    Good man Wade, Good man

Bull22 still sore from the ECFs, I see.

  • bull22

i think the HEAT fans are more sore because they thought going into sunday’s game they would have the lead…..

    Warrior.
Bull22 I still think Chicago fans are more sore than the Heat fans are right now..

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

That’s what he gets for flopping.

A 90% Wade can still drop 35 on Jason Kidd with his eyes closed. The problem is, will his defense be affected? How good will the Mavs defend the other ‘superfriends’? Will Bosh play like a Bosh?

  • bull22

it sounds to me like all of you who keep bringing up the east finals are LEBRON’s CLUB of BEHIND KISSERS. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

  • mj23

With all those beautiful women in Miami, that hip isn’t gonna get better.

Wade came back and still tried to beast. That’s a warrior. But Bron? Who would’a thunk that taking out DWade and playing with Bosh and Bron would leave them defenseless. I saw people on FB saying it was Cardinal’s win because he took out DWade. You have two all-stars LEFT! That’s your bad…

i wonder what happened to that joker that said wade can be compared to jordan…. MJ was NEVER pushed to a game seven in finals… barkley was right, miami heat fans are fickle because they are all MIA today, LOL! season not over, so while you are alive and have fingers, please type…..

  • Dash J

D-Wade is more comparable to MJ than most of the other names people throw out. He’s the only player of the big 3 showing up consistently during the Finals.

  • http://slamonline.com Tae

@ Dash J, u deserve to get blazed for that comment… Wade is more comparable to Jordan than any other name thrown out??? U gotta be bsn. So Wade is more comparable to Jordan than Kobe? Kobe is tha only person close to MJ

    Bull 22
You are ignorant to accomplishments of players that beat your team or didn’t want to join it (DWade, LeBron, Bosh) made the finals in the first year they played together.
You are ignorant to other opinions if they don’t match yours.
Man, you can’t even accept them . If somebody says something thats opposite to your opinion you hate and insult instead of making an intelligent point.
Please try to think before you make a fool of yourself next time. I know this will not happen.
    Have a nice day.
    A Mavs fan.

Completely faked injury by DWade. Cost him the game. He was obviously trying to overshadow Nowitzki’s heroics. I think he was also forcing LeBron to step up. Too bad, he didn’t know how fragile his teammate’s psyche is.

And D-Wade is no MJ. Closest one is Kobe.

  • D!ck Wade

he’s an attention whore. he wants everybody to think that he’s hurt and then goes off trying to play hero ball, hoping it will work. i almost feel kind of embarrassed for him because the whole thing is just so fake and dumb. the guy’s 29 and he’s thinking like a child. Please.

  • kudos

Injury is fake as hell. I saw the freaking replay, and he was grabbing his opposite knee later on, one that he didn’t even hit on the play. Not only that, he was playing completely fine afterwards. D-wade is a known flopper.

Finally other people are noticing that Wade flops and usually acts out injuries to get more calls.
