Larry Bird: Roy Hibbert Won’t Be Traded

Larry Bird denied a published report that the Pacers’ young center was being discussed in trade talks. The Indy Star has the quotes: “Pacers president Larry Bird said [Tuesday] that the franchise will not trade center Roy Hibbert to Minnesota, as was reportedly discussed. According to a Yahoo! Sports report, the Pacers had conversations about trading Hibbert and their 15th pick in Thursday’s draft to Minnesota for the Timberwolves’ No. 2 pick. ‘We’re not doing that … Roy is one of our core guys,’ Bird said [Tuesday] at Conseco Fieldhouse.”

Yeah he was starting to get good with that coaching change. We will see if he can become a legit big man this coming season.

Larry also called Lance Stevenson the Pacers best player 3 times in the same press conference.

thats good, if he can develop his offensive game a little he can really be dominant.

Roy is a core guy? Big stiff with low percentage of fast-twitch muscle fibers. Pacers will continue to be chronic bottom feeders.

Hibbert is slow getting up and down the court and he struggles guarding quick, athletic bigs, but overall he’s a good player. He’s not great, but he’s good.

Good, Roy Hibbert is a good solid center and those are hard to find in the NBA. He plays decent defense and he has a impressive jumpshot for his size and position. You should have known the Pacers weren’t gonna trade him because they don’t really have another good center i mean you could say Foster but he is not exactly starter material.

55 should not be traded!, P.G., Roy, Granger, Psycho T, all these guys, and now Hill, who has big game experience, the PACERS are heading in the right direction!
