Sacramento Kings Interested in Aaron Brooks?

The Kings added Jimmer Fredette to their backcourt during last week’s Draft, but according to the NY Daily News, they’re still interested in making a play for point guard/restricted free agent Aaron Brooks: “With Jimmer Fredette’s addition to a backcourt featuring Tyreke Evans, Sacramento doesn’t have a playmaker, but the answer might come in free agency, whenever that is. The Kings plan on making a pitch for the Suns’ Aaron Brooks, who is restricted. Phoenix made him a qualifying offer on Thursday.”

If they’re looking for a playmaker, they shouldn’t be looking at Aaron Brooks. I like the guy and he’s a big scorer but not a playmaker…

Isn’t Aaron Brooks somewhat the same style as Jimmer?

Out of interest, I’m guessing that as soon as the CBA ends in four days, teams aren’t allowed to trade or sign anyone?

@Overtime, nope, no trade, no FA signing, and I think the players aren’t allowed to use the practice falicities of their teams and stuff like that, not 100% sure though.

cavs should try and offer them sessions for jason thompson seeing as he’s effectively been upgraded by cousins and could be perfect in their byron scott fast pace future

Aaron Brooks is nothing like Jimmer Fredette. And he IS a playmaker. He can put points on the board but his passing is very underrated.

Thanks Easy Bee, yeah ive heard that theyre not allowed to use practice facilities.
As far as im aware, they arent allowed to do anything termed as ‘working’, use the facilities, the trainers, etc.
Was just wondering if it was the same for the GM’s

why did they trade away beno again? I thought he was pretty good on their team. their problem was evans being semi injured all year and their big men were inconsistent. Plus the coach not establishing a rotation ever was frustrating too.
