Suns Looking to Trade Mickael Pietrus?

Mickael Pietrus is looking to stay in Phoenix, but will the Suns keep the swingman for next season? Via Arizona Republic: “In about as much of a surprise as the sunrise, Suns swingman Mickael Pietrus decided Monday to exercise his $5.3 million option for next season instead of becoming a free agent. Whether that means Pietrus stays with Phoenix remains to be seen. His agent, Bill McCandless, says he expects roster shuffling in Phoenix. ‘I’d be surprised if Lon (Babby, Suns president of basketball operations) doesn’t make a couple deals on draft day or later,’ McCandless said. ‘If you have a surplus in one position and a need in another, guess what? ‘But if he (Pietrus) comes back, he’s looking forward to having a full training camp. It’s not the easiest thing, for any player, to be traded and go from Coaching Style A to Coaching Style B and from Management Style A to Management Style B.’”

I know some contenders would love to have this dude. He can play defense and knock down the 3. I think the Suns should look hard at making a run at Monta Ellis, Pietrus could be included in the deal with some guys like Brooks, Gortat, Dudley, etc. I know the new Coach Jackson would love to have some of those tougher guys.

    I like Pietrus. Tough guy.

This is a shocking revelation for PHX. lol. Whatev, but i would take him over Matty Barnes here in LA.

The French MJ can help a good amount of teams out if they let him play. And Steve Nash is in purgatory…

Suns are dumb, trading Pietrus, it doesn’t matter anyone they have Aaron Brooks coming off the bench and an Overrated point guard in Steve Nash running the point. Also Dallas won with out Nash, Mario won with out Nash. Maybe if Nash played defense he could win. The funny thing, the Nash led Suns had more talent than these Dallas Mavericks, so maybe Nash is not what you think he is. I would trade Nash and Gortat, keep Brooks and Pietrus. BOOK IT!!

Ok so no one plays worse D than Nash, but no one passes better than him. And sometimes he’s even the best shooter in the league. There are a few reasons he still plays at a high level and will continue for a few more years. BOOK IT

Bring Jay Electronica to Los Angeles!

Pietrus is worth so much more than people think.

I honestly hate how Orlando traded two solid role players in Gortat and Pietrus for an overrated JRich and old Hedo. Peaches deserves to play on a contender because he is excellent at defense and hits the wide open 3.

the seed isn’t too smart really

well leave up to the “nightmare” team in PHX to make a few bone head moves that wont help the suns or the careers of hill and nash mean much here in PHX im a suns addict but i know its going to be a long decade till we have a new owner and a champion type caliber team here. BOOK IT!!

To south Beach for Mike Miller?

  • RunNGun

Pietrus is solid and definitely underrated. PHX would be smart to keep him. If Walsh were still around, he could swap Bill Walker for him.

I don’t see why not keep him in the back court with nash?

    c Robin Lopez
    f Channing Frye
    f Grant Hill
    g Mickael Pietrus
    g Steve Nash

    f/c Marcin Gortat
    f/g Jared dudley
    g/f Vince Carter
    g Aaron Brooks
    g/f Josh Childress
    f Hakim Warrick

this actually looks like a decent team on paper….

I would be trying to move either josh Childress, Hakim Warrick or Vince Carter
Maybe all 3 for Dwight Howard..????
This team needs a MAJOR SHAKEUP, but more importantly, they need an identity check.
Is this a STEVE NASH or what…?
everyone is getting old… and the line up is way too small.
If Robin Lopez and Marcin Gortat have a great off season, if the guards progress (Zabien dowdell and DUDLEY I’m looking at you) well in training camp then we could be looking at something here.

He’d be a great fit in Toronto or with the Clippers. Both teams need a starting SF and veteran leadership, Pietrus brings both.

Pietrus and Gortat back to de Magic for Hedo and JRich!

    @ rainman 10:

Steve Nash consistently is in the top 5 at charges drawn over the past 5 or so years. He’s not a good 1 on 1 defender, sure, but he is a very decent TEAM defender, and team defense is all about an anchor, which usually comes from a big man(see Chandler in Dallas , Dwight in Orlando, KG in Boston, etc) and thats the vital part of it. U get a big guy that can do that stuff, then all of a sudden Players dont look so bad(see Paul Pierce, Ray Allen after KG got there, although they werent as bad 1 on 1 defending as Nash, but hey, look at J-Rich after getting traded from PHX to ORL , the complete switch his defence and numbers had as the best example). Great defensive teams hardly ever coem PRIMARILY from a dominant pg defender, although it sure doesnt hurt(rondo?).

Horrible Defenders? Calderon, Mike Bibby, guys like that.

as for ur comment about shooting, Nash is consistently been the best guy shotting the ball from a percentage stand point from the field , 3pt, and ft %.

No1 has had as many 50-40-90 % shooting seasons in their careers, not Bird, not Reggie, not Ray Allen, No one.
