Jordan, Magic, Bird Cover NBA 2K12


Due to the success 2K Sports gained last year with Jordan on its cover, His Greatness is back on 2K12, along with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. More classic teams, challenges and games have been high on people’s wish list, and it looks like NBA 2K12 will deliver. Sick covers once again from 2K Sports!

    I’m not a fan of back-to-back old school covers. MJ was nice last year, but don’t like the trend. Plenty of players today that deserve their shine.

    What more Jordan challenges could there be? I think the Magic and Bird challenges should be interesting however.

    How about the ‘Kobe challenge.’ They could include the following:
    Score 81 points
    Score 62 in 3 quarters v the mavs
    Score 12 threes in one game
    Score 61 at the garden
    Score 50+ in 4 straight games

    They need to improve online modes by 1000x. Love the covers, reminds me of some of my NBA wallpapers i used to make. 2Ksports are smart as hell, since this will be an off-year for EA, just improve on the previous game and add more modes to what it had. Then when EA comes back, turn the series on its head again and make another great change.

    that’s cuz these guys have more history behind them. durant hasn’t gone past the 2nd round? Lebron hasn’t won a ring yet. Kobe… his legacy is set but not yet retired. Each year delivering the same game with current players got old and I think they realized that and came up with this great idea. Probably milk it at least for 1 more year and then come up with something new (like a redesigned game engine? it’s about time digitized players can move naturally. Soccer games look pretty real. Basketball still looks like robotic and on skates sometimes.

    I wonder if EA will try and release that trash that was cancelled last year. Dudes should give up and focus on Madden. Especially for those talking same game every year but with different rosters.

    I just got in trouble at work for staring at that MJ cover for like 5 minutes, lol.
    On another note, why would 2K have Durant on the cover when he was the cover boy for Live, “Elite” or whatever the hell EA’s calling it this week?
    It would’ve been nice to see Rose on the cover, but then people would’ve cried fowl over two Bulls in a row, or that Rose got the “cover” for the Draft Combine game.

    add players length and wingspan to 2012.
    add a better range of sneakers to 2012
    add a feature that allows you to change your teams color for wristbands, headbands etc. – for example some games the knicks wear all orange accessories to home games
    Add Bird and Magic to 2012 then you have the best sports video game ever.

    Cosign Will….. I made the transition last fall from NBA Live to 2k (after like 12 years of buying Live every year). At first I didn’t like it so much, but I’ve adjusted and currently playing my 2nd season.. I would like to see more 90′s players in the 2k12 ( Reggie, Richmond, Barkley,Webber, etc., etc.)

    I hope they vastly improve the Association mode. I would love to see actual press conferences, suspensions,analysts comments, and each season differing based on what team you pick.

    I remember Bird, Magic and Especially MJ were absolute beats in NBA Street 2 for PS2. Only non-simulation game I’ve liked since the original NBA Jam…

    Really dope covers tho. Really should just be Bird and Magic though. It makes sense to have Mj as the 1st one and then your pick of Bird or other MJ for this time around but whatev.

    I seriously cannot choose between Bird and Magic. As actual players that is. Magic was a better passer but he’s a better passer than 95% of bball players EVER. Bird is better tha 90%. They both could play the point. Both played on the perimeter(with Bird being the better shooter, by far)both could rebound with anyone on the court. Anyone have input? Sway me! lol

    I hope the challenges wont be exclusive to the player on the covers because if so, then I guess i’ll just be playing the Jordan challenges again.

    I can’t really make a “whose the better player?” distinction between Larry Legend and Magic. Co-sign both LA Huey and Slick Ric. Sir Charles is one of my all-time favorite players of all-time.

    @lakeshow: Magic. 5 titles v 3 titles, 3 finals mvps v 2, both had 3 regular season mvps. And magics the best passer of all time, not better than 95%. Plus Magic gets bonus points for being the bigger playboy. How can you not pick magic if your name is lakeshow!!!!

    Magic avg. 20ppg over his career. Bird avg. 24. Magic 7 RPG. Bird 10RPG. Magic 11apg. Bird 6apg. Both grabbed nearly 2 steal a game. Both probably equal defenders? Magic shot a better percentage at 52%. Bird was nearly 50%. Bird a vastly better shooter. Magic a much better passer… Hmmm.
