Mickael Pietrus: ‘Kobe Bryant Would like to See Me on the Lakers’

Mickael Pietrus tells L’Equipe in France that the Phoenix Suns didn’t use him properly last season, and that Kobe Bryant would like to see him as a teammate in LA: “Phoenix did not play me, but that’s their problem. I continued to work. The only thing that interests me now is winning a title.’ Luckily, he said a great team wouldn’t be opposed to recruiting him. ‘A lot of teams are interested in me, like the Lakers or the Celtics. This came from the best player in the world: Kobe Bryant. He told me two months ago that he would like to see me with the Lakers.’”

best player in the world? are we in 07? but ur right Pietrus, the suns didn’t know where to start with you

  • Jer dawg

That’s a moot point now, but I think Pietrus would be a very reliable wing for Mike Brown defensive system.

Kobe Bryant wanted Shaw to be the coach too…

  • KBJ

damn he sounds like his D*ck got hard just because kobe said that to him, calm down dude.

@KBJ…naw bro you just sound like you got your minds on places it shouldn’t be…@IAMORANGE4EVER…cosigned fam….seems like Kobe don’t got the same pulling power these days anymore

Kobe is the best player in the world. People look at stats but honestly there isnt a more complete player in the nba who is a killer. Im not buying Dirk. He won and finally showed some heart but we all know he cant guard the empire state building. Lebron is a 3 and a half quarter player with a jumpshot that is shakier than a person with frost bite.

I think every team would like Pietrus.

Remember how much he killed the Cavs and every team back in 09? I remember he scored more points all together in that series than the bench combined in that series. Pietrus is a great shooter and good at defense, he’d definitely be better than Barnes. Trade Barnes for like Hawes or someone.

Co-sign Black Rick and Orange. For some reason they(Lakers Front Office) aren’t listening to Kobe…..I don’t see anything that says they shouldn’t.

@BAWSE, i think we can all agree that Pau Gasol was 100% either physically or mentally during the LAL-DAL series but Dirk was matched up agasint him defensively quite a bit and put the clamps on him. Dirk isn’t that same allergic-to-the-paint hang out behind the 3 point line Dirk he once was. Kobe FOR ME is still the guy I would consider the best baller, but Dirk Nowitzki is the best basketball in the world of the moment…

*wasn’t…..thats it i’m going back to typing school

@BlackPhantom…its confusing to me too man. You just don’t hire a coach without Kobe’s acknowledgment period, that was just all out of character…seems like they don’t trust the team in his hands anymore, or are almost preparing for life after Kobe from now

  • Jeremy

If every NBA player says Kobe is the best. Why argue? I’m sure they know what they are talking about right? They are the ones having fadeaway turnarounds dropped in their eye, thankfully its not me.

  • angus

kobe bryant best player in the world? look at the stats, and just his game , never for one season has he been the best player in the league plus the refs and everyone else just hands him over everything.

  • robb

@The Black Rick Kamla if the Lakers didn’t trust the team in Kobe’s hands they wouldn’t have signed the ultimate “give the ball to the best player and forget about it” coach: Mike Brown

  • mgballer3

pietrus pan would be perfect on the celtics. lets trade for him and gortat done.

  • robb

“never for one season has he been the best player in the league” hahaha this guys is an idiot.

  • David J. Moore, IV

Good shooter and great defender. Go ahead and put him on the Lakers when this Lockout ends.

  • jcolestan

I cant see anyone who has stepped up and taken the best player title away from Kobe. If the Heat had won, I think Wade would have been the challenger.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ 1982

Kobe isn’t the best player anymore – you don’t retain that title if you get swept in the second round with multiple all-stars on your squad, even if it’s by the champs. But the keyword is “anymore.” He was – for a very long time – and if you don’t believe that there’s only one reason, you didn’t actually watch any games. And not every player said Kobe was the best – and that includes his ex-teammates. But I got troll’ed away. Pietrus would be a good pick up for pretty much every single team.

But no one counts just one season to crown the best player; they have to be the best over a number of years to be valid.
