Deron Williams’ Wrist Still Not 100% Healthy

Deron Williams was back in Utah for a charity event, and during a wide-ranging Q&A with the Salt Lake Tribune, he admitted that his surgically-repaired wrist wasn’t completely healthy yet (and touched on a number of other subjects): “Ready to get to Turkey: ‘Yeah, I’m just sick of hearing about why am I going to Turkey? Or when am I going, or when am I coming back? So hopefully when I get over there I won’t hear those questions anymore, because it’s everyday.’ Europe horror stories: ‘That doesn’t scare me. I saw that Rick Reilly interview — that doesn’t scare me. I don’t think my situation is going to be similar to some of those guys’ situations, for one. I’ve met the president, I’ve met the GM, I’ve met a lot of the guys in the organization. They’re pretty much pulling out all of the stops for me. … I talked to [Mehmet Okur] about it, he’s probably going to be over there part of the time while I’m over there, so that’ll be good. Ninety-five percent of the people I’ve talked to about Turkey have good things to say about Turkey.’ … Jazz fans’ reaction: ‘There’s more positive people than negative people. I get guys on Twitter that are still angry with me. Call me ‘Coach Killer’ and all type of stuff. That’s going to happen everywhere you go. No matter where you go you’re going to have people that hate you, people that love you.’ 100-percent health, wrist: ‘Yeah, yeah. I wouldn’t say 100 percent. I’ve still got to do some strengthening and breaking up scar tissue. I think that’s a process with any surgery.’”

As long as he can put up a few more 28 ast nights for Jersey, he can take his time.

Best point guard in the NBA-been saying for years, Chris Paul who. BOOK IT!!

For the majority of last year he was the third best pg. When fully healthy he may have a claim.

As long as no one claims Brandon Jennings is, I’m cool.

I think Deron Williams doesn’t have to worry too much about his wrist. It will be fine and he be able to stay in shape and keep his competitive edge in Turky.

I think Deron Williams is the third best point guard in the NBA by a slim margin. But he’s probably my favorite point guard cause he just seems all class.

I think it’s Chris Paul when healthy then D Rose then D will. It was D Rose last year for the regular season. But when Paul got healthy for the playoffs he took it back real quick

    CP3 is the best PG.

How is D Rose (AI Lite) a better point guard than Williams? He can’t pass the ball better, he doesn’t have better ball control, he doesn’t have better court vision, he doesn’t control the game better. Rose finishes better at the rim. That’s the single skill set he has Williams beat at. Rose is an excellent guard, but he isn’t on Williams or Paul’s level when it comes to running a team.

    @ Kadavour –
Was the question who’s the better pure point guard or who was the best point guard in the NBA?
You don’t have to be the best pure point guard to be the best point guard.
Otherwise, Jason Kidd should still be called the best point guard in the L.
AI played point off and on, is anyone really gonna argue he wasn’t the best at his position for at least a few years?
And he sure as hell didn’t fit into that “pure point guard” tag.
Everyone always gets so damn caught up on Rose lacking “court vision” and “ball control”, but he still embarrasses your favorite point guard on the regular.

Sorry, y’all, I get a little i’gnant when people bash Rose’s point guard skills.
I got CP3, then Rose, then Williams. Williams used to be my number one, but he’s gotta show and prove next season, whenever that is, cause though injured, his play was pretty meh last year.

I saw Rose embarrass Deron a couple of times as a Net, and Rondo once in Chicago. Lets remember Deron was not fully healthy, and Rondo had his ailments all year. That’s relevant because Rose being tired gets brought up often when people mention how Bron destroyed him during the play-offs. Since when did Rose winning the match up turn into ‘Rose destroys everyone all the time always’ amongst Chicago fans.

d.will better get healthy so he can put up a decent fight against rose next season

my thoughts exactly all ball… enigmatic you know we only get hung up on stuff like that bc that’s what makes pg’s great… nobody is saying rose is trash. but a fully healthy d.will would probably give homie some problems
