Houston to Host 2013 All-Star Game

The city of Houston has landed the NBA All-Star Game in 2013. The Rockets and the Toyota Center previously hosted All-Star festivities in 2006, and this will be the third time in history the game has come to Houston. Via MyFoxHouston: “The game will be played at Toyota Center on Feb. 17, 2013. NBA All-Star week will be Feb. 15-17. The Rockets and Toyota Center also hosted the game in 2006. The Rockets and the city had initially targeted the All-Star game in 2014, but changed their focus to getting the game a year earlier. This will be the sixth time since the NBA-ABA merger in 1977 that the NBA All-Star Game will be played in Texas.”

OK I’m sorry, but this is some BULLSH*T!!!!
I’m tired of them only doing the ASG in warm climates in the south every year.
Houston just had the ASG in 2006.
In fact, this means Houston will have hosted it three times since the last time Chicago hosted it.
California, Florida, Arizona and Texas cities have hosted it 12 times in the last 22 years.
New York has only hosted it once in the last 40 years!!
Chicago has only hosted it twice in that time!!!
Those are two of the three biggest cities in the US!!!!
    Aight, rant over. :D

It’s pretty stupid that it’ll be in Houston again. It should be held in Philly, Boston, or NYC

What about somewhere it never had an All-Star game before? Or once, like New York? What’s up with that?

I mean even Las Vegas has had an all-star game as much as NEW YORK has…. this is beyond the yoke.

    Or…we can go out on a limb…
    Toronto 2014

how about boston, miami, toronto or new york like why houston again

i still don’t understand why Toronto didn’t get it yet.

Toronto should have it, or even have it across the pond in London.

cool. everyone was crying when LA got it twice in 7 years. “wah wah wah. stern favors big markets and the lakers. wah wah wah”. Houston is a nice size market as well, but hey, i’ve never heard of people crying over them. but really, who cares where it’s held? every court is the same. where the all-star game is held only matters in baseball where every stadium is different

Cause Toronto isn’t in the US and your NBA team doesn’t matter to us americans?

    basketball?? when?

I can’t front, houston is a dope place. New york should have the ASG more than once.

  • Dirtybrid

I enjoyed seeing it go west and east would alternate, and if a city hosted 15-20 years ago, they’d be in line to host again, usually.

  • SikhWitIt

Portland deserves the ASG, those are the livest fans in the NBA, bar none!
