Indiana Pacers Fired 3 Scouts

The Indiana Pacers became the latest NBA team to cut personnel expenditures during the NBA lockout, giving three of its scouts their walking papers. From the Indy Star: “The Indiana Pacers have let go of scouts Brian Winters, Leonard Perry and Joe Ash in a cost-cutting move because of the NBA’s current lockout. Winters is a former NBA and WNBA coach. He scouted Paul George, the No. 10 pick in the 2010 draft, while George was at Fresno State. Ash spent eight years with the Pacers, including part of the time as director of scouting. Perry joined the Pacers as an assistant coach for Rick Carlisle in 2006.”

Overrated? Seed, you’re getting Tyler and Danny Granger mixed up.

I am from NC, I seen Tyler play, he is an average player a best. Pacer wasted a draft pick on an average player, there was other players on the board I would have drafted like Earl Clark, Jrue Holiday, Austin Daye, Ty Lawson, Chase Budindger or Darren Collison who they have traded for now. Bad pick for a Pacer team that needs a dynamic slasher player.

Only guys you mentioned with more surefire talent are Jrue and Ty. Pacers don’t like drafting guys with “character issues” and Ty was always considered undersized. Hindsight is 20/20 tho, and both fellas will be great pros.

I would take Tyler H over Earl Clark, Jrue Holiday, Ty Lawson, and Darren Collison. Chase Budindger isn’t a guarantee. Austin Daye is the only one I would take hands down over Tyler H.

@Seed- you’re nuts for that one.
@Adrian – word? Austin Daye over Hansbrough?
    Hansbrough over Jrue Holiday? Wow…
