Kobe Bryant’s Agent Meets with Besiktas

The possibility of Kobe Bryant joining Deron Williams in Turkey has taken another step forward. From Sportando: “As confirmed exclusively to Sportando by Obrad Fimic of Alti Sport, the first meeting between Rob Pelinka, agent of Kobe Bryant and Besiktas was an acquainting one. Both sides presented their view’s of the situation. Besiktas also made a first official proposal to Kobe Bryant but the offer, at the moment, is not at the level that Kobe and his agents will accept. In the next days, by the end of the week, there should be a second meeting where Besiktas will raise the proposal for the Lakers’ star trying to convince him to land in Turkey and play along with Deron Williams. Kobe did not attend the meeting.”

i think if the players ( union) want to be taken seriously, kobe bryant needs to play elsewhere. i personally feel that d-fish being the president of the union has a lot to do with convincing kobe to play. the nba as a whole, comish, owners and all cant risk loosing its current cornerstone player to injury or what not, specially now that the heir apparent ( lebron ) is disliked by the majority of the fans. this puts a whole lot of pressure on the owners to resolve things quicker. imagine kobe, lebron , d-rose , durant , and howard all decide to play overseas. then imagine 1 or more of this group getting injured or sidelined? i say force all the stars to risk everything and see what happens.

Why Turkey ? Why not go to Spain or Greece. I don’t remember Turkish teams playing a big role in European basketball man

Sounds great and as i said before, panini overseas basketball cards will be at a huge price, especially if they are autogragh, KOBE needs to sit this one out now that i think about it. He needs his knees for next season, now that 2011-12 will be scratch off the books. I wish he would NOT go and rest his body and knees, he will be 33 soon, so, it’s best for him to rest, then again, when you love the game so much, and you have put so much hardwork and the passion still there as if he was a rookie, is hard to no dribble the ball and play. I hope he makes the right decision.
