Paul Pierce, Michael Beasley Had Asthma Attacks Due to Smoking Fans in China


Michael Beasley didn’t just perhaps fracture his wrist while playing in an exhibition game in China this past Sunday, it appears that he and Paul Pierce (who played on the same team) each suffered asthma attacks to boot. From Niubball (via NetEase): “While playing in Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang province… Pierce and Beasley both suffered asthma attacks due to large amounts of fans smoking cigarettes inside the stadium. After the game, things got even more shocking when Beasley fell to the floor in his hotel and started to roll around in obvious pain, scaring everyone around half-to-death. At that point, there was no choice but to dial 120 (the number for an ambulance in China) and take him to the hospital.”

    Wonder if this will make some players think twice about going to China to play. It’s hard to imagine so much smoke in an arena that multiple players get asthma attacks.

    Contrary to popular belief, and 22 person medical studies (which is the 2003 study..from the very prestigious university of buffalo that “confirmed” this myth, and included a grand total of 75 people and only 22 Pot Smokers, you now, too represent the whole human race). The real effects of marijuana on sperm count are about the same as alcohol. Sperm half-life and seminal fluid is a different story, but only in heavy users. i am hella bored

    Chain smoking and social smoking are pretty ubiquitous in China. I haven’t heard too much about weed, though, since illicit substances carry serious penalties over there, especially trafficking. Of course the people still do it, though.
    Should be noted that the Chinese are one of, if not THE first people to cultivate the hemp plant.

    paul pierce i can understand dude is getting old and needs to slow down, but i see no relation with slams rumour of be easy breaking his wrist and fainitng cause of a couple of cancer sticks.
