Brian Scalabrine Signed With Italy’s Benetton Treviso


Benetton Treviso inked Scal for the duration of the NBA lockout. Sportando reports: “Benetton Treviso officially signed for the upcoming season Brian Scalabrine. Former Bulls was signed as American while he is waiting for the Italian passport. Scalabrine, who won also an NBA title with Boston Celtics, is in Treviso since weeks practicing with the team.”

    I just don’t understand how teams keep signing this guy. He had 3 decent games with the Nets 8 years ago and parlayed that into a lucrative, championship winning career. His agent is worth his weight in gold!

    dfrance: you and me both. and judjing by his body shape, he doesn’t seem to be one of these super-intense workout guys either. he sits on the bench during the season and chills in the off season. great life.

    T-Money and dfrance – the guy’s value comes in his being a great teammate and locker room presence.
    From what I’ve heard, he’s a future coach in the making, great bball IQ, just lacks the talent and athleticism and…well, just about everything but height.
    But most coaches value a guy that can be like another coach in the locker room and on the sidelines that the players can relate to.
    Coach Thibs loves this dude, and his teammates and fans do too.
    Plus it’s not like dude is balling (by NBA player standards), he made $1.2 mil last year.
