UPDATE: Earl Clark Leaving China for Family Reasons

UPDATE: Whoops! Turns out that Clark’s decision to bolt from the Far East has nothing to do with the cuisine. His agent tells the Orlando Sentinel that family reasons are to blame: “Happy Walters, who represents Clark, said the 6-foot-10 forward has returned to the United States because Clark’s girlfriend is seven weeks away from giving birth to a baby boy and is having some complications. ‘He wanted to be there and was not comfortable being in China with problems happening,’ Walters told the Orlando Sentinel via e-mail. ‘He is bummed, but family comes first. The team in China has been very supportive and understanding and they will release him from his contract,’ Walters added.”

Earl Clark is reportedly bolting from China and the team he signed on with during the NBA lockout. Clark couldn’t stand the food, apparently. From Sportando (via HoopChina): “As reported by HoopChina, Earl Clark asked to leave Zhejiang because he could not get used to Chinese food. Clark was one of the first important NBA players who left US for the Asian country. Clark spent two seasons in the NBA averaging 3.3ppg in 93 games. The Chinese team is already seeking the market to replace him.”
