Kemba Walker to Play in Jimmer Fredette’s Charity Games

Kemba Walker will join The Jimmer in a pair of charity games taking place in Utah later this month. Reports the Salt Lake Tribune: “Walker was confirmed Wednesday to participate in two exhibition games hosted by Fredette. Walker, a rookie guard and former Connecticut standout, was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats with the ninth overall pick during the 2011 NBA Draft. Fredette was taken No. 10 by the Sacramento Kings. ‘I have always been a big fan and have a lot of respect for Kemba,’ Fredette said in a press release. ‘We had the chance to work out together before the draft and have become friends.’ The charity games will be held Sept. 21 (Salt Lake City) and 22 (Provo). Other participating players will be announced during the coming weeks.”

    And I’m sure of the Bobcats drafting Kemba.

    I guess Jimer didn’t embarrass Kemba enough from last time.

    @Jukai….what happened ‘last time’??

  • David

    @The Black Rick Kamla: Word is that Jimmer owned Kemba at Jazz pre- draft workout.

    BRK: At a draft scrimage, Jimmer and Kemba were matched up and Jimmer dropped 40 something and held Kemba below 20. Really, it didn’t mean jack sh*t cause it was just a scrimmage but everyone thought the opposite would happen so it turned a few peeps heads.

    @Jukai….I mean I don’t see it turning anybody’s head…I mean he’s a high volume scorer, the kid was doing that consistently against some of the better teams and players in the nation for the last 2 years. No defense for a dead eye from 25+ feet really, especially with the lift he gets on his shot. He’ll be a much better player than JJ Reddick…I don’t even like that comparison. I see something closer to Ben Gordon.

    both of these guys are NY kids with a healthy respect and rivalry for each others games. Should be fun to watch both at the next level…….switching gears though, I think Nolan Smith might just be the best guard out of the whole draft….better than Kyrie, better than all of em…dont sleep

    THIS KIND OF GAMES ARE GOOD FOR THIS ROOKIES AND THEIR RESPECTED TEAMS IT WOULD BE A SHAME IF THE SEASON GETS CANCELLED BECAUSE IF THE NBA SEASON STARTS IN 2012 THEN THEY WOULD HAVE AN EVEN SMALLER CHANCE OF WINNING THE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE COMPETING WITH ANOTHER DRAFT CLASS WHICH IS SAID TO BE STRONGER IN COMPARISON WITH KEMBA AND JIMMMER’S DRAFT CLASS

    BRK: Well, if you have to specify that he’s more than JJ Reddick, it obviously did turn people’s heads. Everyone is looking at him through glasses that see a bust.

    @Jukai. Not me! lol. I actually think he’ll do fine in the league. And the fact he was drafted by the Kings made a perfect fit. I mean, Tyreke’s is more of a slasher (and his 3 is not that on-point). With Jimmer being his kick-out buddy it’s quite the combo. And don’t forget about the developing Cousins down low. This team will be pretty entertaining to watch!

    @niQ, I see the Reke/Jimmer pairing similar to the Ellis/Curry duo. Going to be fun to watch Kings-Warriors tilts when the games start back up.
