Report: Adelman Near Deal With Wolves

HoopsWorld reports that Rick Adelman’s success with young and international players gave him the edge in the Wolves’ coaching search. “For months now the Minnesota Timberwolves have been looking to fill their vacant head coaching position, and now it looks like they will finally get it done. After waiting until well into the head coach hiring frenzy to part ways with Kurt Rambis, the Timberwolves found themselves in the unenviable position of having to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of a new coach, a search that included such names as Larry Brown, Sam Mitchell and Don Nelson. It wasn’t until the possibility that Nelson might just be next for Minnesota arose (much to the chagrin of many of team president David Kahn’s advisers) that former Houston Rockets head coach Rick Adelman came into the picture.”

I try to imagine being a T-Wolves fan; Finally some positivity when it comes to this team, but then there might be no season. (I’m a Nets fan, I can relate to this. )

T-wolves will never be competetive as long as Khan is on the helm. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but the guy’s track record speaks for himself. No matter how good your coaching is, or how much potential your team has, if the GM is a dunce, your chances are slim. Remember the Brown-Thomas pairing with the Knicks?

Confirmed. Adelman will be coaching the Wolves.
