Video: Carmelo Anthony and LaLa on Regis & Kelly

The couple discusses the lockout, the trade to New York and more.

With her reality show airing on VH1 these days, LaLa brought Melo with her onto the Regis & Kelly, as the group talks about raising a child in NYC, what the Knicks need to win a Chip, and what the days immediately leading up to the big trade were like. Parts 2 and 3 below.

    Its amazing what money can do for you because LaLa was definitely not that banging when Melo first hooked up with her.

    What I find funny is that Melo continues to evade any criticism whatsoever despite getting past the second round once in his 8th yr career and it’s not like he can use the “oh, I had a terrible supporting cast” excuse.

    And in my opinion Bron Bron’s not getting out of the first round if those Cavs teams he played on were in the Western Conference like Melo’s Nuggets were. Just keepin’ it real JTaylor21.

    Take a look at Kevin Garnett’s career, he couldn’t get out of the first round until the Wolves landed Sam Cassell to play point guard. Got to the WCF’s and lost to the Lakers. The first time Melo’s Nuggets got out the first round was when the Nuggets landed Billups to run point and what happened? They got to the WCF’s and lost to the Lakers who went on to win the chip. Bottom line, Melo needs a good point guard, because he doesn’t play point forward like Bron Bron. Why do you think Shaq calls Wade and Bron Bron the greatest backcourt ever? Bron Bron plays more like a guard than he does a small forward. Heck I could go on and on…Those Nuggets teams Melo was on playing the eventual Western Conference Champs and/or NBA Champs in the first round on almost every occasion, while Bron Bron‘s Cavs were getting layups in the first round against teams like the Wizards.. The year the Cavs got through the East to the NBA Finals, they got swept by the Spurs, who also played against Melo Nuggets in the first round in the West…yet they didn’t sweep the Nuggets, in fact Melo’s Nuggets beat the Spurs in San Antonio. Melo played great against the Spurs that year in the first round, while LeBron struggled. Both great players, but I’ll take Melo, because he’s gonna come through in the clutch. He’s a bigger version of the TRUTH in Boston. That’s who I want playing the 3 on the Knicks. I’m out. Have a great hump day.

    right… melo needed a better point guard… when they reached the WCF’s he only had chauncey billups, who was the main reason the nuggets even made it that far

    so Orange if(hypothetically) you owned a team and next year Bron and Melo are available(like in 03) and you know everything you know today about theirs first 8 years, would you still take Melo 1st overall?

    Yeah i wasn’t saying she went from butt ugly to dimepiece. She was pretty, but a chef, personal trainer and make-up artists go a loooooong way. lol.

    @ Philosopher, was she ever rated? It’s not like her name is brought up in raps or shes gracing magazine covers and sh*t. She’s a cutie, but I will say that she’s stepped up her looks since she married Melo. She wasn’t THAT attractive when she was on TRL.
