Audio: Jared Dudley Talks Nash, Stern, Lockout

Phoenix Suns swingman Jared Dudley has long been one of the League’s most outspoken players. So when you hear him compare David Stern to a rapper’s hype man and proclaim that “ESPN pays him,” it might not be all that shocking. But his honesty is always refreshing, so when he recently sat down with Hard 2 Guard Radio to talk about the lockout and the Suns, we listened. Among his notable quotes were his thoughts on Steve Nash, about whom he says, “He’s the franchise, he’s the face. If he’s not there, you better have someone to sell tickets, because he sells tickets. I don’t care how bad we are, how good we are, they’re going to buy his jersey, they’re going to come watch him play.” Hear the whole interview below:

Jared Dudley is going to have a better career as a commentator than a player in the future.

Jared Dudley has become one of my favorite players because of the down to earth perspective, straight talk and the fact that he’s busting his ass to be the best ball player he can be. He’s a young guy that’s somehow old school.

^ Co sign. He’s very old school, and as a Suns fan, i love it, he hustles his ass off on every play ,and is a very solid defender which can shoot as well, looking for an even better season from him this year (especially if he starts) i think with the current group, the Suns may just be able to sneak into a playoff spot, as they have a core group that has been together a while (minus carter, who may not even be around this season, and Gortat, who fit in perfectly right away), so if Nash can handle the 4 games a week schedule long enough…why not? But Damn, we needed Brooks back to take pressure off of Nash, thats a big loss right there…
