  • SesameBaller

Take it! For dunkin’ Griffins sake!

Just give him a max deal already! And once again become the clippers of old we are used to, not this franchise full of possibilities it is now….thats just weird…

You know, that’s as decent as an offer you can get for DeAndre Jordan since other than dunking and blocks, he hasn’t done much else. Any higher of a bid and you’re likely overpaying him.

$40 mil is a slight overpayment, but decent bigs are hard to find these days.

Actually, cosign Wayno. On both statements.

    It’s not an overpayment actually.
It’s less than what Perkins and Varejo are earning, and much less than what David Lee is getting. I think it might be less than what Chandler is getting.
I would say they should have offered him $45 million over five years.

is he not restricted? i guess they r trying to beat other teams to the punch. if he signs, kaman has to be traded right?

After reading the Grantland piece about centres this morning I shouldnt be surprised, but still..8 million a year for DeAndre Jordan?! 8 million?! I know you cant teach height but by god you sure have to pay for it.

Cosign AP, Jordan is worth that money. Very underrated.

    5 years, 40 Million? Wow, that’s 8 million a season. It’s too much…

The Clippers are willing to make a move for Dwight or Cp without the assurance they sign an extension. The only stipulation from their end is that they will not include Eric Gordon without that assurance. So yes, Chris Kaman is definitely on the move.

@Allenp. I assume the reason why they set the bar early and at 40mill is cause another team will likely offer more, so then the Clippers will match that next offer. And if no team wants to raise that bar, well then look who they got for 40mill.

The Rockets are 1 Deandre Jordan away from the playoffs. Make it happen, Morey.

    cosign with eZ
twitter was abuzz with the Clips doing something like this, but I actually didn’t think it would happen. $40 Mill 5/years…ughhhh.
He’s basically the 2011 Keon Clark

He’s going to be a beast. This deal will look genius in 6 months assuming no major injuries.

This pretty much ensures that Kaman is on the way out. Bold move, suprising from a GM like Sterling.

This deal is ridiculous for Jordan. Lets keep it real, if Griffin wasn’t there, would Jordan be effective? No. His post game is below average

  • jimbo

Isn’t this what started the lockout? Owners being stupid and losing money? I say offer his 5 years for $30M instead.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    He’s not a post player.
He’s a shotblocker, rebounder, finisher. That’s all he does, and he has elite athleticism.
Basically, he’s a younger version of Tyson Chandler, and a more athletic version of Varejo and Perkins.
His biggest problems are consistency, free throws and foul trouble. You have to hope that improves as he matures and learns the game. People, David Lee got $12 million. Noah got the same. Based on those figures, $8 million is slightly below market value for Jordan.
Supply and demand. Supply and demand.

His Per 36 minute numbers, 10PP36, 10RP36, 2.5BP36 on an absurd 68% shooting. And last year was his first year where he played real minutes.
