Houston Rockets Interested in Acquiring Samuel Dalembert

Rockets GM Daryl Morey tells Fox Sports that his team would like to bolster its frontcourt by signing Sammy Dalembert: “Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey acknowledged Thursday he is in negotiations with free agent center Samuel Dalembert. The Rockets have been working the free agent market to add an impact big man to their roster. Dalembert is 6-11 and 250 pounds. ‘We have interest in Sam,’ Morey said. ‘If it makes sense for him and us, we would love to have him. It’s in negotiations. Between the two of us looking for a fit. He’s got a lot of options and we’ll see if it makes sense here … I think he’s somebody who could add presence in the middle, rebounding, shot blocking that could help us out,’ Morey said. ‘That said I think our young guys are some guys that could develop and give us that as well.’”

dalembert should not be retarded for once in his life and just come to heat and win a championship.

Daryl needs to offer him more than the Heat have (the mid-level exception: $5 million) to get him. He made $13 million with Sacramento. I’m not sure Morey wants to do more than the mid-level, but I don’t think we can get him for less than $8 million.

I just love how moray keeps things as irrelevant as possible… Camembert adds rebounding and a presence in the middle… but he feels they cold get that from their young guys….??

Please don’t, Daryl. Let him go to the Heat… Swing a trade for someone else.

Sam Dalembert would make an excellant addition to any team. He’s a hard worker, he runs the court like a Gazelle and he is a role model for young players in The Locker room and his repatation is sqeaky clean. When Dalembert played with Allen Iverson who knew how to run and get Sam the ball Sam was at his best, but if a team is not a running team and dont know how to utilize Sam like Paul Westphal did in Sacramento you wont get the best out of Sam. He has everything a team needs in a solid center. He has speed, agility, shot blocking ability, skills, free throw percentage. Don’t sleep on Sam Dalembert Im telling you.

I hope the rockets make this happen. Its going to allow for our guys to be very aggressive on defense with a true shot blocker at the rim. I think its safe to say he’s the piece we’re miSsing. Just make an offer for a 2 year deal with the second being a team option so it doesn’t hurt our run at any free agents next off season. There’s absolutely no point in blowing up our roster to aquire a star player who would be playing with the second string because we would have to trade almost everyone. Keep our picks and add some great young players in a very deep draft. Free T-will
