So who is gonna play center for the Bobcats?

  • CLo14

Signing Kwame Brown is a complete insult to Nene. Did G-State give up on the Nene sweepstakes or will this be part of a trade proposal? I don’t see why you should give Kwame Brown (of all the people!!!) this fat contract. DISGUSTING!

  • iLL will

Must be nice to be Kwame Brown.

  • Uwho

Lmao 7 mil?!!! Looks like da boy kwame is still relevant.

  • Uwho

    I’m kwame brown and I’m gonna make not 1 not2 not3, 4……but 7 mil this year.

  • Waggle

7m? Isn’t this the problem the stupid owners were having? (ie. overpaying players and then losing money)

  • AD

    nene might b in jersey

Kwame Brown has made over $50M after this season in his NBA career. Yes, he has made more during his career (2001-2012) than most NBA players in or before the 90′s made in their whole careers. Not saying I don’t understand why, but that is pretty absurd to think about.

$43 million for Deandre Jordan doesn’t sound to crazy now..

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com albie1kenobi

sweet. the Warriors are finally a playoff team again. Kwame was on the 2006 lakers squad that pushed phx to 7 games in the first round.

  • Lew alcindor

    nene to jersey please.

  • matt

$7 million on a 1 year contract for Kwame Brown isn’t that bad actually. I’m happy for GSW actually. They didn’t spend 50-60 million on the most overated big in the NBA in Nene. If Dwight doesn’t want to go to NJN then expect NJN to get Nene.

    hahahaha wtf.

Good to see the Lockout was useful.

  • Jose

well at least its only for one year. . i guess. . .

  • Sizzle

Jordan has been behind all these Kwame signings secretly. His pet project should be working at a pet store

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

MJ has to be a proud poppa.

  • O

And people thought we overpaid for Chandler… well, we kinda did…

    *God rolls his eyes*

  • Yesse

    Kwame getting some paper!

These guys learned alot from the lockout i guess, lol.

  • JoeMaMa

“And the award for “Agent of the Year” goes to….”

  • slamfan4life

WHY DOES HE KEEP GETTING PAID

  • http://slamonline.com Jesse

    @Slamfan4life: Short answer: he’s 6’11

  • kobesBESTfriend

well at least he won’t have 2 worry bout getting a pass from Monte like he was scared of when he played with Mamba

  • bolletrie

In the words of CP3: WOW!! Seems like only two days ago owners were complaining about not being able to make a profit. Wonder why that is??

  • MikeC.

The lockout wasn’t as much to do with the actual annual salaries, but more to do with the length of the contracts and raises. Sure, the owners wanted to have smaller annual salaries, but the length of contracts was more important to them. Kwame for $Xmillion per year isn’t a big deal, it’s how long they signed him for. This could be a solid strategic move for them down the road. Once the moratorium is up on free agent signees, Kwame will be a valuable trade asset. $7mil expiring contracts are worth a lot as a trade chip. If he gives them 6 and 6 with some hard fouls, then it’s a bonus.

if you are a large man, please contact the NBA. Starting salaries are in the millions, and you don’t have to be good or anything

  • LA Huey

Like MikeC said, it’s just one year. A 7 foot tandem of Biedris/Kwame with 12 fouls to relieve David Lee of the dirty work is not bad considering what’s left. GState, like myself, probably think Nene’s going for the money (which is in Denver) and this the best fall back plan.

  • bike

Sure it’s just a one year contract, but why 7 million? Seems like they could have had him for less than half that…who else is out there that would have picked him up for more?

Dubs fan Ric Bucher must have burned one today, because he’s tweeting up Kwame Brown signing, while alluding the Knicks “overpaid” for Tyson Chandler. LMAO

  • tomtom

KWAME BROWN WILL EARN MORE THAN TWICE WHAT VC WILL EARN THIS SEASON…FACT.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

The Knicks did overpay for Tyson Chandler. They massively overpaid. But someone would have anyway. The Kwame Brown contract is expiring. And given the new rules (that teams must fulfill 80% of the cap this year, 85% after that, 90% every year from then on) a $7M dollar contract is worth it even if there is a dead corpse attached to it, as long as it’s expiring.

    7 mil????

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Yep, but think about it like this, Brown walks into Golden State as the best defensive big on the team. And it’s for 1 year, and it’s money they HAD to spend.

  • BBaller

    Speechless

  • C-Mac

If they’re only paying him to take some fouls, then they’re paying him about $1,166,666.66 per foul.

as a warrior fan, i don’t mind this signing. it’s only for 1 year.
plus, it’s not like we need his offense. we desperately need a center that can defend the paint and rebound, which is exactly what he does.
the dubs need this, especially because the clips matched the offer for deandre.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

In what world is Kwame Brown worth 7 mil in a year?

  • Hanoon

i think someone gave steven a. smith his cheese doodles….

  • http://www.t-mac.com/tmac/index unf*ckwitable

Are you serious???? 7mil GTFOH with that sh*t.

  • gubbins

Didn’t Jerry West just say he’s not sure about DeAndre Jordan?? But this idea he’s sold on.

  • http://knicks.com Gametimeweezy

    Kwame is a vet lol

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Kwame Brown is a very good post defender and nobody else on the Warriors team plays defense. And he will never complain about shots. He just wants to play defense, rebound and eat cake.
    Can’t forget the cake.

  • dapluva

hey i can play better than this dude he’s garbage ask kobe bryant

  • http://www.slamonline.com House

wow NBA is turning into the F*KING TWILIGHT ZONE

  • LA Huey

It’s apparent a lot of people here have never actually seen Kwame Brown play and didn’t bother to read the terms of the new CBA.

  • https://plus.google.com/photos/106403650426394352312/albums/posts davidR

foreal huey. but then again, a lot of people don’t actually watch games

  • http://dgcoursereview.com Bro.D

Here are some Kwame facts: A)has size, plays defense, good motor, B)the Bobcats, who liked Kwame, didn’t think he was worth $5M a year. So, there you go.

lmaoooo @ allenp “don’t forget the cake”
