Orlando Magic Have Waived Gilbert Arenas

The artist formerly known as Agent Zero is a man without a basketball team at the moment, as the Magic showed him the door today. Per the team’s official website: “he Orlando Magic have waived guard Gilbert Arenas and designated him as the team’s amnesty player, President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Otis Smith announced today. Arenas (6’4”, 215, 1/6/82) played in 70 games with both Washington and Orlando last season, averaging 10.8 ppg., 3.9 apg., 2.7 rpg. and 1.06 stlpg. in 25.7 minpg. He was acquired by the Magic on December 28, 2010 from Washington in exchange for Rashard Lewis. In 49 games with Orlando, Arenas averaged 8.0 ppg., 3.2 apg. and 2.4 rpg. in 21.8 minpg.”

If the Lakers cant get Chris Paul (because the NBA wont play nice) this is who they should go after.

The only options he got are Miami or overseas.

so.. they traded rashard lewis, vince carter, gortat for basically turkeyglu and big baby?

Miami is probably Agent Zeros best option. They definitely need a scoring threat and he can revitalize his image down in south beach. Another option would be Lakers, after all they did lose Shannon Brown to Phoenix.

This was so set in stone the clause should have been named after him.
    He’d go well in Turkey, I think…

Sign with Phoenix and win back to back MVPs.

Finally, the first amnesty of the day was the right choice. So, Otis how did bringing in your friend turn out for you and the Magic? Arenas is done. Nobody in the NBA wants him or his antics anymore. Better join Marbury in China soon.

Y’all know how amnesty works right? Only teams under the cap (Read: NOT LA or MIAMI) have the chance to initially bid on Gilbert before he hits the free agent market. And I see some small market team (Bobcats? Rockets? Timberwolves?) paying him a little bit to come play as both a crowd pleaser and spark plug.
