@ Wayno: Joe Dumars is out of his mind these days.. Sorry, man.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

He’d be a perfect fit with the Bulls. Thanks for all your years in Detroit, now go help Drose get a ring my man.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    Rip to Bulls?
    I’m not feeling it.
We already got two players who can’t be relied on for more than 60 games a season.

yeah I havent understood anything joe dumars has done for the past few years.. he needs to just completely fking rebuild and stop signing aging players for too much money

@Wayno I feel you man it does suck being a Pistons fan smh Dumars you bastard

It’s not Dumars, its the city. Nobody (except Tayshaun) wants to rot in DT.

I’m with you Enigmatic. Bring in the young guys. They’re saying here in Chicago that Bogans got pulled from practice, so a trade for a 2 guard may be coming soon.

It looks like Bulls are going to trade for Jamal Crawford. I’d still pick up Rip if he’d sign for cheap as a back up.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I’d rather have Rip than Crawford. He fits with the culture better.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

How is Crawford better for Chicago than RIP? He’s an offensive black hole and he needs the ball in his hands to score. Rip needs a good PG to be effective and he plays off the ball as well as anyone in the league. @ Enig – where do you get the impression that RIP isn’t reliable? He hasn’t really had a bad injury history and he’s very committed to staying in top shape. Plus his style of play isn’t as physically taxing as that of a slasher type player. I expect him to have Ray Allenesque longevity.

I’ve been somewhat of a Joe Dumars apologist up until recently. I just can’t do it anymore, the dude is an idiot…

  • http://www.slamonline.com megatron

yeah I gave him a couple years slack because of the championship but its become too much

  • Chukaz

I wonder where Stern’s gonna send him. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was like “Chicago? We can’t let all these guys go to big market teams and form super teams. We should send him to Detroit. I heard they just waived a SG. That reminds me, remind me to decided where i’ll send that guy to. Also, I haven’t vetoes anything today, so bring me a list of transactions, a dart, and a blindfold”

  • EtheKnickFan

Joe Dumars = isiah thomas in disguise.

After tracy ditched em it went all bad…. #13ptsin35seconds

    Sorry, I’m in a bad mood…

Any guard worth picking up (B-Diddy, et al.) who passes through the league’s new amnesty waiver system will most certainely be eyeing the New York Knicks, who now have the best frontcourt in the NBA with Melo, Stat, and CHandler.

  • Chukaz

@IAMORANGE4EVER they also have one of the worse defensive teams ever with Melo, Stat and D’Antoni’s “system” (if you consider ‘f*ck it dude, just play’ a “system”)

  • http://domarioedwards@yahoo.com mario

Detroit has been trying 2 give him away 4 the last 2 years, and no 1 wanted him. Pistons have a log jam at guard, he had 2 go.

  • LaKid

@Diesel – hearing Bogans is heading to Atl.. possible sign and trade for JCraw?

  • LA Huey

Dumar’s track record makes sense now that I remember he and Zeke shared a backcourt.

The Celtics, Heat and Lakers all could really use this guy. Each of their teams need a veteran who is capable of scoring and at a cheap price. Ray Allen is getting older and needs a temporarily replacement, Miami needs a second unit scoring option, and the Lakers need a temporarily replacement for Shannon Brown. Chicago should value free agents such as Jamal Crawford and JR Smith who are more “instant offense” veteran players who will shoot whenever and wherever, whereas Rip is a “veteran scorer” who will score only when it comes to him and he’s in a good position to. Another option could be the Knicks, where they are thin at the guard position(s).

  • boss

miami heat need to get rid of mike miller and purchase richard hamilton right nowwwww he wouldnt refuse in my mind that would make miami’s bench deeper and stronger

  • chingy

The Celtics don’t need Rip. They need am athletic wing who can take pressure off of PP and Ray on the defensive end. That’s not Rip.

  • barnabusb

@Wayno: You should come and post at detroitbadboys dot com. It’s full of hardcore Pistons fans who hate Joe Dumars. Join us and revel in our rage!

  • ryan

ok its good for pistons because cmon….the championship team is gone after billups left the team…hope pistons become a good contender like use to be….

  • Soundproof

    Rip to Houston!

  • sam

Pistons finally get rid of one of their many guards. I don’t think Chicago will have the money to get Hamilton, but it would definitely be the final piece to their championship puzzle.

  • feez_22

Rip is actually good guys… just so much u can do when your last 3 coaches were saunders, curry and goddamn kuester. 3 guys who dont command respect anywhere anymore. especially flip… for such a long tenured coach he sure is a doormat. Rip needs motivation. This situation can do it for him. when motivated he is an adequate defender, excellent midrange shooter and a much better player overall than bogans (which really isn’t hard honestly). Rip means business. The pistons put rip in the doghouse ever since him and iverson were fighting for that starting 2 guard spot. ya this goes back to 09.

If only this was 2003. With all these players getting released today the sports world would’ve been chaotic. But it isn’t. I hope they all go to the Spurs. I still believe in R.C..

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    LOL @ Huey.

  • thor

Dallas is about to sign Vince Carter I believe.

  • Yesse

Wow. I didn’t see this coming.

  • konnor

Yeah, he’s good but we need to get serious about the FAs. We should snatch up AK-47 and Vujacic or other great players via FA
