Vince Carter Waived By the Phoenix Suns

No surprise here. Phoenix and VC have parted ways. Reports the Arizona Republic: “The Suns waived Vince Carter today. They owe him the guaranteed $4M of his contract’s $18M salary.”

Bobcats should make this move. The only thing I would be worried about is Vince corrupting Gerald Henderson more than Corey Maggette will, but Kemba/Vince/Maggette/Diaw/Kwamakie Brown could be tolerable for this year

Wouldn’t he still be very valuable to the Bulls? i know he’s not great but he can hit shots for them. Provides veteran leadership, and he’s in a winning situation.

Would love him in Portland now with Brandon gone. He could back Matthews. (Then again, his knees would probably disintegrate the very moment he put on the Blazers jersey)

He’s old, he should go to Phoe…Oh, right.

  • chris_from_the_netherlands

He should go to Atlanta and reunite with T-Mac!

yo B. Angus, you need to go sit by the air conditioner for a minute

    So true BossTerry

  • OTB

VC needs to go on a true contender with veteran leadership (unlike what he had with the Magic). He needs a serious leader that holds him accountable (a la KG/Doc, Thibs/Rose, Kobe, Wade, etc) and won’t just joke around like Dwight did. Carter stopped caring the moment he got shipped out from Orlando…this is a guy at the tail end of his career, and he wants a winning role. If he doesn’t get that, he’s not going to give a crap and suck, so realistically, the only teams even thinking of signing him should be Celtics, Bulls, Heat. I’m not sure any of the Western teams want him.

BETCATS, Every time I see your name, I really feel sorry for you..
The good thing is you got Kemba tho

  • ripslam

    B. Angus on that mature tip…personally I would not like to see him in Beantown. We don’t need another aging veteran, and especially a lazy, underachieving one.

Sorry another stressful day. Knicks fans have been dormant(door mat) for a while so they are all just a little extra annoying to me right now.

  • EtheKnickFan

    RunNGun for president.

  • B. Angus

yeah, i ain’t wanna see him in boston either…he should go 2 miami bc that would bee his best chance at gettin’ that ring…on a side note, p double should bee kissin’ kg’s ass 4 the rest of his life 4 gettin’ him that ring

Now he can shoot fadeaway three’s all day for a different team. woohoo!

  • BAYLORBEARS2012

I think Vince would be a great fit in boston. He realizes that his time is limited, and playing with legitimate title contenders is first on his list. He wouldn’t be effective playing with the Bulls because vince is more of a secondary unit player now, you cant count on him to do the scoring anymore at the 2 guard position (ex: his stint in Orlando). Another good option would be Miami, where he could be the leading scorer of their second unit alongside shane battier and eddy curry. The only teams that should take a serious look at the once half man half amazing kid should be boston and miami imo.

@Otb…Vince stopped caring when he got shipped out of Orlando is way off base! Vince actually stopped caring in 2003

  • http://www.offthebackboard.wordpress.com OTB

He’s getting picked up by Dallas. Don’t know what to think about that one. Did Terry start for the MAvs last year after Caron went down? I’d rather have Terry start and VC off the bench. They’ll need the scoring punch since Barea is gone.

  • http://www.slamonline.com megatron

yeah I just seen david aldridge say that on nba tv, and no terry didnt start last year.

  • http://slamonline.com The Philosopher

He gon’ end up on some lottery team as a third guard…

  • Yesse

I’m sure someone will sign him.

  • Goattree is a moron

“@Otb…Vince stopped caring when he got shipped out of Orlando is way off base! Vince actually stopped caring in 2003″

Yeah, he didn’t care in 2006-07 when he averaged 25/6/5, borderline MVP numbers, and helped the Nets beat the Raptors in the playoffs, averaging 25/6/4 in that series.

    Idiot.

  • DMC14
