Derrick Rose to Return; Luol Deng Ailing

For the Chicago Bulls, when it comes to the injury bug, there’s good (and potentially bad) news. From the Tribune: “While Derrick Rose is telling people he plans to play on Monday, the Bulls are leaning toward being conservative with Luol Deng. Deng underwent an MRI on his sprained left wrist Sunday, results of which were not immediately available. He said late Saturday he didn’t think the injury would sideline him for a lengthy period. However, with a normal week featuring no back-to-back games in this compressed schedule, not to mention a Nets lineup that starts three guards, Deng could sit for the first time this season. Taj Gibson also is expected to miss Monday’s game with a sprained ankle, while John Lucas III has said he plans to return from his sore groin. And Joakim Noah will be a gametime decision with his sprained ankle.”

  • stlheatmaniac

turf toe aint nothing to play wit real talk. my question is will this b a career altering injury or will D rose ever completly heal to play his best ball again. looing at his stats he worse this yr than he was last yr which is all bad for the bulls. they winnin now but when them playofs hit and rose beat to shyt already i cant see them going far. plus they didnt do much of anything to improve from last yr. so theyl get there reg season Ws but not much more than that.

@ MLK…how is he a sissy? Just because he rested? He wanted to play but he had to be smart and not injure it more than it is. Besides he gets hacked all the time when he takes it the paint. Does he complain? No! He goes back to the paint and makes highlights.

real funny with the sissy comments, i like to hit someone in the toe with sledgehammer and see if they will be in the mood to do anything. iam glad these guys are getting the proper time to heal so we can make a real good playoff run..

cosign bull22: agreed especially considering the rate at which the games are being played.

@stlheatmaniac: why is it a bad sign that Rose’s stats are down and how does that correlate into the Bulls not going deeper into the playoffs. The Bulls chemistry is much better this year, the ball is being distributed more by the whole team. Unselfish ball is an easier way to win than having a guy like Kobe take the majority of your shots when trying to win ballgames.

@MLK: I’d like to see you do any better with turftoe.

You gain a great point guard, but lose some defensive intensity. Ronnie Brewer needs to defend and I’m sure he will.
