Kyle Lowry Facing a Misdemeanor Battery Charge

Houston Rockets guard Kyle Lowry has been hit with a misdemeanor battery charge for an alleged incident involving a female referee. From the Houston Chronicle and KRIV TV: “Rockets guard Kyle Lowry declined to comment on a KRIV-TV report on Thursday that he has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery by the Clark County District Attorney’s office in Las Vegas in connection with throwing a basketball at a referee after a game in September. ‘It’s a legal matter,’ Lowry said via text message. ‘I don’t have a comment about it as of right now.’ According to the KRIV report citing the declaration of warrant/summons, ‘Lowry approached the victim and threw a basketball at her striking her in her torso. The victim picked up the basketball and tossed it back at Lowry. Lowry became upset and stated ‘B****, meet me outside. I will kick your a**.’ According to the warrant, Lowry apologized to the official, InFini Robinson, a former Nevada-Las Vegas and Michigan player, saying ‘I’m sorry. I truly apologize for what I did. I let my emotions get the best of me.’ Lowry has been issued a summons to appear before the Las Vegas Justice Court on Feb 2.”
