  The Knicks might be desperate enough to trade Amare for Iggy + Spencer Hawes. Phily might actually get a little respect if a trade like that happened instead of being perennially slept on.

  Hell no! I don’t want Amar’e anywhere near this team. He’s the anti Doug Collins on D, and this is a very good defensive team. He’s seemingly on the downswing of his career. For evidence check out Haberstroh’s article on him on ESPN. Good analysis. What the Sixers need, for this season, is another viable big off the bench. Someone that can come in, play solid D, grab boards, and give 10 mins. I’ll take a semi-washed up version of PJ Brown.

  As much as I loathe Iggy’s offensive game, he’s invaluable on D. Especially in a conference with D Wade, Melo, Lebron, JJ, Pierce, and Granger.

  Don’t trade anybody, don’t jump ship. Get a real pg. Peter vescey was thinking just like me when he wrote that article saying the knicks should persue jamal tinsley, An experienced, confident point guard from BKLYN baby!!!!!! They passed up on too many players for all the wrong reasons in the past.

  As a Knicks fan, i’d trade Amare for Iggy in a second. I love Amare for the player he is and for being the first dude to take on the Knicks when they were dead in the water, but son looks like he gave up team leadership to Melo and isn’t interested in reestablishing himself as a primary scorer. He wants his own team, so let him have Philly.

  The Sixers have bad luck when it comes to trades/acquisitions of PFs with All-Star credentials. Philly should stand pat. They have a good young team that will only get better. I’m sure a go-to-guy will emerge from their crop of guards.

  cosign everybody else. This is such a dumb idea and Amare is VERY overrated. Melo to Jersey for Williams makes sense for both clubs but I just don’t see the Knicks pulling the trigger on that one
