Deron Williams Likes Playing in Dallas Mavericks’ Arena the Most

The New Jersey Nets already view Mark Cuban and the Mavericks as serious threats for Deron Williams’ services this summer, and DWill’s comments about how much he likes to play in his hometown of Dallas probably won’t help them sleep any easier at night. From the Star-Ledger: “Nets fans who worry that point guard Deron Williams might walk as a free agent this summer and sign with his hometown Dallas Mavericks won’t get any reassurance from Williams’ comments after the Nets’ practice Monday at Southern Methodist University. ‘I always like playing here,’ Williams said when asked about his thoughts on playing in Dallas’ American Airlines Center, where the Nets will take on the Mavericks tonight. ‘It’s probably my favorite (arena) to play in. I just enjoy playing here — I enjoy playing in front of my friends, family. It’s always good they get the chance to come and see me play.’ Williams could play in front of his family and friends 41 times a year if he signs with the Mavericks this summer, and Nets coach Avery Johnson admitted he realizes that is a very real possibility. [...] Williams was asked whether he likes the arena itself, or just the idea of playing home. ‘Home,’ he said. ‘(And) I just like the arena. I think it’s a good shooting background. I just enjoy playing here. Fans — the fans are great. It’s always good when arenas have a lot of energy. Ours (the Prudential Center) doesn’t have too much energy.’”

    I really don’t think Deron and Dwight will go to Dallas because it clear that Dirk has lost a few steps and seems unmotivated to play hard and win another championship. I think Dirk wouldn’t put his all in next season if the Mavericks where to get both if them. Don’t get mad Mavericks fans yall know it true.

    He’s going to Dallas next season book it!

    If Deron goes to the aging Mavericks to play with choke artist Dirk, I predicted would not be motivated anymore to win. His career will be wasted. BOOK IT!

    @joey i am lol

    Anybody calling Dirk a choke artist definitely didn’t watch the playoffs last season. And over the last 10 games, Dirk is fifth in the NBA in scoring, averaging 24.9 points a game.

    Goodbye Brooklyn…

    hes packed his bags, jersey is just a side note in his career. The New York nets wont have williams OR howard next year, BOOK IT

    Um saying its obvious Dirk has lost a few steps and not motivated to win another is just dumb. The start of the season he was obviously on a bum knee suffered from playing overseas. You haven’t been paying attention to him averaging 25ppg and 40% from three the last 11 games.

    Cuban seems to be in it for the long haul. Prokhorov not so much. Who would you trust to build a contender? I’m riding with Cubes every time

    If these two (Howard, Williams) go to the Mavericks. Then they know that they have to build the core of a new team. Maybe they will profit of the knowledge of the veterans, but that is all.

    Guys, we really have to stop trying to argue with the Seed about anything. He’s clueless and I don’t think has made a correct comment, logical arguement, or been right on a prediction…EVER!
