Eric Gordon to Undergo Knee Surgery; Out 6 More Weeks

Bad news for the Hornets and Eric Gordon, as the guard will go under the knife to fix his right knee. Reports the Times-Picayune: “New Orleans Hornets shooting guard Eric Gordon, who has played just two games this season because of a bone bruise, will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday and will be out an addtional six weeks. Gordon was diagnosed initially with the bruise following the Hornets season opening win on Dec. 28 at Phoenix, a game in which he made the winning shot in the final seconds. He said later he entered the game with a sore knee, then the problem worsened after he knocked knees with Suns forward Grant Hill in the fourth quarter. [...] ‘After consulting with out medical staff, we concluded that surgery was the bvest route and in the best interest of Eric for the long term,’ General Manager Dell Demps said in a release. ‘We had hoped with rest and rehab, Eric’s knee would have healed. ‘”

So I guess it wasn’t just a bruise huh?

In absolutely no rush to come back and play for the Hornets… If I were him I’d be taking my time as well so I’m good to go for Indiana next season.

I feel for Hornets fans. Ever since the league took over that team, it’s been downhill. I think he’s a RFA after this year. I really hope the Sixers try and get him, he would be a perfect piece to this team. And if anyone thinks Stern doesn’t put the fix in to get the #1 pick this year, so they can get a franchise player to build around, and then sell the team at a higher price down the line, is crazy.

Yeah its funny how people were saying the Clips gave up too much, should have tried to keep Gordon and now look. But hindsight is 20/20
