Gilbert Arenas Worked Out for the Lakers

These are desperate times for the Los Angeles Lakers, as their aging, slow-footed backcourt continues to underwhelm (save for Kobe Bryant, and occassionaly, Andrew Goudelock.) The Lakers reportedly held a private workout with Gilbert Arenas, as they continue to search for answers. From Yahoo! Sports: “Two sources familiar with the workout said Arenas moved well and made a positive impression, but there was no sense of how quickly – if at all – the Lakers would pursue signing him to a free-agent contract. [...] The Lakers’ coaching staff didn’t attend the workout, but coach Mike Brown and star Kobe Bryant have been proponents of giving Arenas a chance to help the team. Los Angeles’ backcourt, including veterans Derek Fisher, Steve Blake and two rookies, has been a source of frustration and has had team officials investigating the market for potential additions.”

what is the hold up?it made me sick 2 my stomach seeing Lin make Fish and Blake look like crap!at least gil won’t hesitate 2 shoot if Kobe passes him the ball when he is double teamed!

confused as to why this hasn’t happened yet. there isn’t a better alternative out there, unless they’re trying to trade for d.will

Arenas is from Cali, so this will be a winning situation for him. He can play at home in front of his family and play for a winning organization. SIGN HIM LAKERS PLEASE!!!

get him now, I don’t care if he’s washed up, anything is better than Fisher, and he probably can score more easily than any player on the Lakers bench.

LOL . I wonder if he shook Kobe like he wanted to. Ever since he said ” Watch me shake Kobe ” at the all star game 5 years back his life got worse & worse.

Good fit. I think Arenas finally got over his injury(ies?) mentally that round that Orlando was eliminated; only being too late to make a real impact. He’s from Cali, he’s an semi-athletic threat, and best of all… It’s not his team to ruin.

Like many, I am wondering wtf is the hold up. He will only cost a 1.4mil salary, Lakers now has a open spot to sign a player, and 8 points per game is better than no point per game. Come on man, did David Stern kicked the balls out of you with the CP3 trade, Mitch?
