Lakers Eyeing Raymond Felton, Michael Beasley?

Both Felton and Beasley have expiring contracts, and let’s face it—both don’t fit with their current team. The Lakers have a hefty trade exception from when they dealt Lamar Odom. It’s still speculation, but L.A. is likely to upgrade (at least at point guard) before the trade deadline. From Roland Lazenby: “I hear they want both Felton and Beasley. That’s their goal. But talk is cheap right now. The source is good tho. [...] Even if gained with the trade exception, Felton raises a whole new round of possibilities+questions for the Lakers, ones they’ve pondered.”

they should get beasley, jj barea and gerlad wallace. And as a welcome gift let them elbow andrew bynum in the ribs

They should sign Ray Allen, Kurt Thomas, and Darko Milic too. Maybe sign T Mac later plus any other NBA player that plays in the NBA.

Except the Lakers trade assets are better players then those two….

  • namik

They dont have to trade anyone to sign these two. At least from what I understand, the money they saved from the Odom trade will allow them to sign both of these players without trading anyone. Move the rookies to the D-League to make space on roster. If this happens, they will be vastly improved. Coaching still seems to be the biggest problem though.

Felton would be fantastic. Beasley would be nice. No way that Pau or Bynum get traded for either though. Here’s to hoping Portland has always loooved Luke Walton.

How would you work a 3 pg rotation? Unless Blake is traded somewhere…I dont see LA getting rid of Fish. But Blake or Fish will get shafted if they were to get Felton. He is a definite upgrade over both pgs. As far as beasley…hes an upgrade on the offensive end. He has the abilities to do everything offensively. Wouldnt mind to see him and MWP share some minutes.

Lakers eyeing Arne Duncan, Kevin Hart and Doug Gottlieb

Slam still does not have the name problem fixed? that first comment wasn’t even me.

Could the Lakers send World Peace anywhere? Beasly would be an upgrade but who would take MWP? As far a a Blake for Felton deal…that seems fair. If they move Gasol, all I hope is that he gets moved in the western so he can have his way vs Bynum and prove that he is the better player between them. Add to that Gasol does not get injured. Calderon is a better option for the Lakers.

Damn who aren’t they eyeing? There’s a big difference between eyeing and getting. I can eye dime pieces all day, but unless I get one who cares. They just hooked up with a 5 (if that, love ya Sheed, but even Bos couldn’t use him) and are hopin the beer goggles that are their season thus far make the next 7 they snag look like a 9 or 10. Just be careful LA cause you know what Pau looks like the next morning…

Damn, has Felton’s game fell that far that a straight up trade for Steve Blake is viewed as a ‘fair’ trade?!

  • shutup

Why would you worry about a 3-guard rotation the 2 they have arent worth sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet (in my Kobe imitating Clay voice) Both would be good pickups for this team, then maybe Beasley can go to LA Ink and get those pigeon wings covered up on his back.

Called it last week about felton going to LA

Stupidest move they could make all year. Trade back for Lamar Odom he clearly doesn’t like Dallas nor is he fitting in with them. Then trade Metta for Ariza. If this happens I guarantee an NBA Championship.

I’m rooting for Felton. Make it happen, so Fish can go fish. Sorry…

I just love what The Seed said…

  • iverson sux!

so many rumors about LA. what the lakers need is a good coaching staff. their offense stinks.. Mike brown cant handle this team. smh. i would prefer signing brian shaw or adelman.

  • jpm34

Yeah like Adelman would leave an up and coming T-wolves team to coach a serious declining Lakers. Get real and get a realistic name “Iverson Sux!” .

  • bdogg

should have never let ariza go period..felton would be great or get aaron brooks from china and we all good!

  • matt

besides TPE lakers have nothing to offer

  • cryo

What’s the point, Felton can’t get it done in portland with plenty of options in lamarcus aldridge, gerald wallace, batum and Jamal Crawford who is now running the point instead of him.
Lakers want someone to break down the defense, that’s exactly what Felton has failed to do.

The wolves aren’t getting anything from any of the proposals people keep throwing up. Gasol gives them nothing, they have Love and Pekovic.
There is no incentive in a deal that doesn’t give them a SF that works with their setup. They might do well eyeing Kirilenko or looking for a way to pickup Chandler.

Lakers have a few FA PG options. Aaron Brooks, Gilbert Arenas, I’ve heard Earl Boykins thrown about. Other options that might like more minutes Andre Miller, Ramon Sessions, Baron Davis, J.J Barea, George Hill, G. Vasquez, Mo Williams, Randy Foye.

  • Yesse

Felton would be an upgrade for D. Fish.

I hope they are not just talking this time.
